Eurovision : Denmark "Drama Queen"

All week I will have a special focus on the build-up to Eurovision, the good, the bad, and the completely camp. There is simply nothing else like it (well Mardi Gras, Miss Universe and The Footy Show sort of come close)
Let’s kick off with Denmark’s entry, DQ with “Drama Queen.” The song is suitably discotheque in a bad sort of Stock, Aitken and Waterman way. Actually they were geniuses, cancel that comment. The chorus includes I’m your drama queen tonight, All my troubles are out of sight, When the lights are on I will be your shining star. Spice Girls? Donna Summer? Maybe S Club Seven….
There’s 2 boys and 2 girls with fans dancing beside DQ. Did I mention it’s a drag act? Let’s let DQ do the rest of the singing for herself. And if you think her outfit screams Hello Dolly you’d be right.
DQ, who appears in the Semi Final on Saturday night, is no doubt hoping to replicate the success of Dana International from Israel. Good luck, girlfriend!

FABULOUS!!!!
Great song! His voice sounds a lot like Boy George (with better hips)… If we had this kind of talent perfoming in our clubs I would have a reason to go out again!
Thank God Terry Wogan is back too!
Jack!
sweeeet – have to start watching again.
Relax, Terry Wogan is back. SBS dropped him for about two years but that was about four years or so ago.
For campness, this post gets 5 BIG stars!
I wish we’d get that Pommy guy’s Eurovision commentary, who used to whack away with sarcasm, or is he still on the ‘dumped’ list … Maybe he’s dead !?!
