BB US tries Up Late format

The forthcoming American season of Big Brother will add an Up Late-style format to be known as After Dark.

It will air on the ShoToo network, part of the CBS / Showtime brand.

Footage will screen from 12am – 3am live and unedited. An online producer will select the camera views, which are likely to include profanity and nudity. However with time differences, the footage will actually be 9pm – 12am activity in the LA based house.

“That’s primetime for the ‘Big Brother’ house,” exec producer Allison Grodner told Variety. “It’s when our houseguests are most wide awake and having fun, talking about strategy and playing the game. People are going to see quite a bit.”

When CBS launches BB on July 5 it will air three nights a week.

BB Up Late has hosted by Mike Goldman in Australia since 2003.

  1. What a gyp. Our version is heavily censored, and it’s probably the ONLY MA15+ rated show on TEN at the moment. If you watch the credits, there are three censors constantly monitoring Up-Late, and whenever a housemate even mentions the word “sex” they move to another room. >:(
