Naomi’s show on hold

Naomi Robson’s talk show will not get an immediate go-ahead according to newspaper reports today.

Despite postitive feedback for the pilot show, it is understood Seven felt the timing of a new daytime show wasn’t right. Instead it will focus on The Morning Show with Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies.

However her management told the Daily Telegraph that “Seven is committed to the project and Naomi is still a priority for them.”

Her contract with Seven reportedly expires on June 30.

No doubt the landscape will ave changed by 2008 when it becomes clearer if The Catch-Up is to be renewed by Nine. If it continues performing at current levels it would be a surprise if new Nine owners CVC found it cost-effective.

  1. I hope she’s allowed to be more down-to-earth like her YouTube bloopers clips portray, otherwise we’re going to get that same talking dolly.

I think it’s that talking doll persona that gets her into trouble. I think viewers can smell fake, even when they mostly give her a pass. The problem is, you only need to make one smallish mistake (that lizard on the shoulder comes to mind) and you’re dunzo for the day.

  2. That’s a bit harsh. Naomi was the only one to make TT rate (there were several hosts before her remember). It’s funny how the show has still attracted calamities since she has left, maybe she copped more than she deserved?

  3. Awwww, nooooo.

And just when i thought the most talentless individual on aussie TV about about to return…

Hmmm, there must be justice out there in the universe!

  4. ten should pounce on Namomi and use her for a entertainment/light current affairs show at 6pm….they could make use of some of the 60 minutes US footage they get from their NBC deal(or did they sell that to 9) and mix it with some light hearted entertainment news and very light current affairs….
