Gossip Girl ‘soon’

FOX8 has indicated it will announce an airdate for Gossip Girl “in coming weeks.”

The teen-based drama about rich kids of New York is based on the books of the same name by Cecily von Ziegesar.

The TV series will be produced by The OC’s Josh Schwartz, and aired in the US this week.

As the ensemble cast deal with sex, drugs, and peer conformity, a narrator comments via her blog. The voice is that of actor Kristin Bell aka Veronica Mars.

TV Tonight will bring you an airdate as soon as it comes to hand!

  1. Can anyone tell me the name of the song and the singer played at the end of the final episode of Satisfaction last. I think it’s shipwrekc but not sure – help.

  2. hey guys, just wondering if anyone has seen the ads on fox 8 abt the show? I was wondering if anybody could please tell me what song is being played whilst they are previewing the show? any help you can provide would be great, because its really doing my head in! lol

  3. cannot wait for gg 2 be coming 2 fox8.
i have got every book of the series and have been hoping for a movie/tv show for it.
    and now it is here.
fox8 has announced gossip girl is airing 4th december.
    apparently..
as for channel nine i am not sure sorry.
ive seen the previews for gg on youtube and looks awesome i cannot wait!

  4. wow i didnt know that nine owns the rights. i did think ten was would be the one to buy it up.

ive seen the show off the net and it is totaly different from the books.

o and on the television series vanessa is african american i think >_> and she not bald 🙁

  5. Channel 9 are not a very intelligent bunch. The reason none of these shows they’ve played in the past have been successful is because they had no advertising and put them all on at way after prime-time. For example, they played 3 episodes of the OC before they axed it, and played it at 10.30 on a wednesday night and advertised like maybe once every two days and they wonder why it didn’t work. Channel 10 picks it up, actually spends some money to get it out there and look what happens, it was a major contributor to the networks ratings for years. I don’t know whose running channel 9 but they obviously aren’t thinking things through.

  6. The OC. Did fit their demographic. Sooooo many people I know (in Australia) Were waiting for The OC to come on and when it came on nine heaps of people watched it. Nine is just stupid.

  7. oh my god cant beleive they are makingthese books into a series have read them so many times love them …. can i ask other fans that are reading and waiting like me…. lol everything i find about the new show doesnt seem to include Vannessa Abrams….??? she isnt exactly my fave charecter but the story wouldnt be the same without all charecters …. even the pointless leo…. lol… anyone wanna contact me about book series…. [email protected]

  8. I don’t understand how Nine could have been so stupid to buy Gossip Girl in the first place. The O.C., Gilmore Girls and Smallville didn’t fit their demographic, so what hope did they have GG working on Nine?

Same deal with Seven and their evident obsession with animated sitcoms that they NEVER EVER bother playing (i.e. King of the Hill, American Dad).

  9. Nine on-sold the rights to Foxtel after it didn’t fit their demographic (as they did with The OC, eventually with West Wing etc). FOX8 will announce airdate soon.

  10. Thank you!
(I’ve seen it, for those who loved the O.C, this is a must watch.)
(and for those who can’t wait to see it because they’ve read the books – its worth it. Loved the books, love the show)
Can’t wait to be able to see it properly on TV
