New boss for Comedy Channel

After moving its base to Melbourne earlier this year, Foxtel’s Comedy Channel now has a new boss.

He is former GTV9 producer Alex Ristevski.

Ristevski most recently worked at the Nine Network where he was executive producer of factual and light-entertainment programming. He is a former stand-up comedian himself.

“They say in comedy ‘timing is everything’, it also rings true in management,” he said. “I’m lucky enough to be joining The Comedy Channel, as it gets ready for its biggest and best year in 2008. With the commissioning of two new pilots, the premiere of The Mansion – a home-grown gritty and daring comedy series as well as the return of all your favourites.”

Press Release:

A senior entertainment producer with GTV9 and himself a former stand-up comedian, Alex is returning to the channel on which he once appeared. Now an experienced television executive, he will play a significant role in spearheading FOXTEL’s television commitment in the Melbourne market, overseeing all elements of the channel’s operation.

He began his television career working alongside some of Australia ’s best comedy talent at production company Artist Services.

“They say in comedy ‘timing is everything’, it also rings true in management. I’m lucky enough to be joining The Comedy Channel, as it gets ready for its biggest and best year in 2008. With the commissioning of two new pilots, the premiere of The Mansion – a home-grown gritty and daring comedy series as well as the return of all your favourites, The Comedy Channel is set to go from strength to strength,” Alex says.
