Rumour: Big Brother latest

Those sneaky folk over at Behind Big Brother have posted some aerial shots of the BB site, which is showing signs of “significant new construction around the backyard area, including what looks like a smaller separate backyard with it’s own pool. Could this be a Head of Household / FNL winner area or secret second house?

“Inside the house we hear from production leaks the toilet will have a removable wall revealing a passageway leading to a hidden room or possibly the diary room. The toilet wall will be used to issue housemates with secret missions, rather than an obvious announcement for a housemate to go to the diary room.”

If you’re into the reality series (tipped for April 28, unconfirmed) bookmark the BBBA site which together with TV Tonight will keep you posted on all the key movements of the series this year.

  1. I think I was pretty clear HD – criticise the show all you like but don’t put down it’s viewers or pretend you know anything about them. The last para of your original post was the clincher.

As for not liking you, I don’t know you. Therefore, I can’t comment.

  2. Oh god John, seriously, every single thread on this website has mixed opinions about shows and behind the scenes of TV, seriously that “uber-talk” is just lame. If you cant argue the points or talk about the topic then why jump in. A troll creates trouble for the sake of creating trouble, my comments were about a TV show and why I would like to see it axed. And by your uber-hip-cool definition, your comment was more “troll” like than any of my views on BB.
I got mates comin round tonight, wanna come round and watch us have a beer and a laugh? Is that voyeristic enough for you? lol

  3. Hey I’m not the only one who doesn’t like the show, people have been calling for its axing for years. It’s a democratic right that we voice our opinions of things we dont like, you may not like me for judging the show, and thanks for pointing that out and criticizing me right back heh 🙂

  4. Actually HD I think more of a person who doesn’t feel the need to criticise the tastes of others has far more credibility. At the end of the day, enough people are watching for them to program another series. Like any other show it will run it’s course and eventually be axed then you and others like you will probably do the “I told you so” bit andthump your chest like King Kong (and we all know what happenied to him). I have absolutely no problem with your criticism of the show itself but I do take issue with your generalisations and put-downs of its viewers. Those with a “superiority complex” do themselves no favours.

  5. I think it’s pretty sad for anyone to base credibility of a person over their tv indulgences.

Most people like that are just regurgitating what they are told as if it makes them more intelligent. Just turn the same arguments on their favourite shows and watch them squirm with excuses!

  6. It all good to talk about your favorite shows and what your opinions are on them, but as soon as a person says there a big fan of BB, all there credibility flies out the window 🙂

  7. I will be watching this season as I have every other. Some seasons are better than others. It’s not brain surgery but that’s ok, neither is Survivor, Amazing Race, Wife Swap – but I love them all and many others like them.

At least reality tv gives us a break from having to check the tv guide for repeats. I am sick of having to justify BB’s existence. There are plenty of shows I don’t like and some I really can’t stand – but I don’t have the desire to criticise them at every opportunity. TV is for everyone.

By the way, I too have a great life – I also quite openly tell people that I watch BB and tape it when I’m not home etc. If people are going to think less of others because of the tv shows they like, then they should get a life!!

  8. Yeah – There is plenty of room for more Simpsons episodes. In fact too much room! How many repeats do they have that could be filled by original content? What about TenHD?

  9. Thankyou Chris, I couldn’t agree more with you. I understand most peoples issues with this show, but they fail to see the larger draw to BB. its not the fake tans, big boobs or hook ups that make it so popular, its watching people change and evolve over three months, to see how they learn, cope and understand with their own reality. That’s why Camilla and Daves relationship has been a fan favourite. Don’t judge something until you completely understand it. I agree that some parts of BB, like the ‘big draw card of the season’, are pointless, but understanding how others work, change and grow is what makes it insightful within itself, as we can understand society and ourselves better.

Oh and the human dree, my life is fracking fantastic. Ive done alot of what ive wanted too. People from three years ago, Igor, Aphroditie and Merlin. ‘Free the Refugees’ There you go, so you can go back to playing World of Warcraft now.

  10. Chris – yes, if we don’t like it don’t watch it.

But that’s a little hard when BB takes over the entire network. Ignoring the daily show, BB’s usually on 6 nights a week with “specials” while in the process sacrificing other shows.

The last few years sitcoms and new Simpsons episodes have been rested for 3 months so Ten can have it’s schedule free. (But, for the sake of argument, this happens with Idol too).

They don’t call it Channel BB for nothing.

  11. Chris, firstly, I have as much right to post a negative view on BB as you do a positive one, this is a TV site where, as far as im aware discussion and comments on things TV related is encouraged, therefore, my negative view is just as valid as your positive one..anyway, for the record, in response to your comment that I may watch it this year just to carry on about how pointless it is, I have better things to do that watch TV shows I dont like, just to post comments on sites such as this and another point, id rather open a vein than watch anything hosted by Kyle and Jackie O anyway.

  12. Again you never fail to post hate about Big Brother can you?

If you are so up tight about this show, dont watch it, dont complain. But then again we all know you will watch it just to complain about how “pointless” it is.

Either dont watch it and dont complain, or watch it and shut up!

Whats the bet you two will post on every news bulletin about Big Brother? I bet you will.

Anyway, get over yourselves if you cant stand the show dont watch it, ignore news articles, and everything thats got to do with the show and yours and my life will be much better

  13. I see it as a 3 month soap that’s part gameshow, part psychological drama, part comedy, part documentary all with very realistic characters and football fanaticism.

In fact I don’t find it any less significant than watching and talking about footy. In fact Big Brother housemates seem to be better behaved!

Most soaps/dramas can’t touch the real emotional involvement when a character cries, talks about their eating disorder, losing a baby, being a refugee, gay rights, or even coping with a family member committing a hate crime.

I think that’s what BB should be about, but have in the past resorted to pandering to the lowest common denominator. I don’t think they’ve unlocked its potential which is why I’m hoping they’re trying to reach an older demographic this year.

Oh and I think most viewers can name various housemates from previous years. Especially the number that are on radio or turn up on tv programs. But does that really matter? I can’t name characters in my favourite dramas I watched last year! Doesn’t mean I didn’t get anything out of them.

In the end most primetime TV is a bit of mindless entertainment. If you want great dramas you have to turn to cable, ABC/SBS or late night commercial tv. Rarely you’ll get fed “quality” outside of this.

I personally can’t see Dancing with the Stars/It takes Two/Gladiators/Deal or no Deal being any more intelligent than the next show. If people enjoy it, why deny the massess? You know how to vote with your remote.

Oh I loved Ben Elton’s “Dead Famous” 🙂

  14. i agree, BB has overstayed its welcome by about 3 years now, Gretel was the only decent, intelligent thing about the show, who knows how low it will go with Vile and Jackie Ho in charge!
If ever anyone wants a good read about the whole Big Brother phonemenon, grab “Dead Famous” by Ben Elton, its hilarious and right on the mark!

  15. Oh dear, he we go again.
The whole “the house is different” and the “people are different” the “tasks are better” the “format has changed” blah blah blah.
And in the end we just get another bunch of never-has-beens and never-will-be’s sitting around a house talking about the best time they got pissed, the sex they’ve had, and how this whole thing will change their lives because when they walk into a nightclub people look at them different.
If I wanted to watch a bunch of twenty somethings sit around and talk about partyin, I’d drag an arm chair down to my local rehab center and eat tim tams.
But hey wait! There going to put one or two 30 somethings in there? Or even 40 somethings? OMG!!! the social experiments findings will really start to bare fruit!
If this show had started on any other network it would have been canned years ago, but Ten needs every swingin chief in the field to make it some sort of clan.
Can anyone name the people from three series ago? Or how the house looked? If you can you’d never admit it in public and also if your life is so dull you have to watch a bunch of people in a house sittin on their butts hoping it could be you? Then buy a mirror 🙂
