Kirby your enthusiasm

Lipstick Jungle is coming soon to Seven, the new show from Candace Bushnell (Sex and the City).

It stars Brooke Shields, Kim Raver and Lindsay Price. But it’s Robert Buckley as ‘Kirby’ who has many tongues wagging, with scenes that match those of “Smith” in SATC.

The series has had a better run than Darren Star’s ill-fated Cashmere Mafia, renewed after its initial seven episode run.

Seven is yet to release a date and timeslot for the show, but don’t be surprised if it settles into a 9:30pm timeslot, after Brothers and Sisters vacates.

Press Release:

Movie executive Wendy Healy, fashion magazine editor Nico Reilly and fashion designer Victory Ford are at the top of their game.

On the surface, the stars of LIPSTICK JUNGLE live the high life. But the higher up the food chain, the harder they can fall.

Behind their designer threads and million dollar smiles, TV’s sexiest new trio know it’s a jungle out there. And without each other, they could get eaten alive.

From Sex and the City creator, Candace Bushnell, comes the lives of three powerful career women.

As a mother and president of Parador Pictures, Wendy (Brooke Shields), is struggling to strike balance in her life. Tough-as-nails in the boardroom, Nico (Kim Raver) has the final word on the city’s hottest fashion title, Bonfire, but her marriage is on the rocks. Until her latest range was panned by New York’s most poisonous pen, Victory (Lindsay Price) was a celebrated designer.

The men in their lives have varying influences; some are predators while others serve as prey.

Owner of Parador and Bonfire, media mogul Hector Matrick (Julian Sands) is a pain in the neck for Wendy and Nico. For Victory, her hold on billionaire Joe Bennett (Andrew McCarthy) proves she hasn’t lost her mojo.

And ladies, you’ll be getting to know more of Kirby Atwood (Robert Buckley) than you bargained for, but we bet you won’t complain.

On the back of the blockbuster success of Sex and City: The Movie, this new high-powered threesome is taking New York and the small screen by storm. And before the obvious comparisons to a certain other drama featuring ambitious women in New York, LIPSTICK JUNGLE is the successful one that has been picked up for a second season.

Pucker up for LIPSTICK JUNGLE, yet another addition to Seven’s line-up of hit US series this month

  1. Have watched the entire first season and became absolutely hooked. The characters seem so much more believable and less pretentious than their Cashmere Mafia counterparts.

Interesting that their was a completely different actor playing the role of Kirby in the pilot – definately a change for the better. Far more chemistry now.
