Double or nothing: Lipstick Jungle, Prison Break

Seven is moving fast on the falling figures for Lipstick Jungle, adding double episodes from this Sunday. The move will bump Trinny and Susannah Undress out of schedule.

Last night the show attracted 655,000 viewers, a sizeable drop from the 1m who watched Private Practice before it. It was also a long way behind Nine’s season finale of Without a Trace on 1.1m. Last week Jungle had 642,000.

Seven finished the night with a 22.7% share, well behind Nine’s 32.3%.

Meanwhile Seven will also screen a double episode of Prison Break as its season finale on Wednesday July 30. The switch here is due to plans for ‘a surprise’ the week after. On air ads for the series return last week promoted it as the ‘Season Premiere.’ It wasn’t.

The Unit will air at 11:30pm.

Seven has also been airing double eps for The Amazing Race to finish the series before the Olympics.

  1. sillygostly – Cavemen is bad but it only had a short run so I’ll watch just to say I saw it. From what I’ve seen they made 13 eps but they only aired 6 in the US, so we are ahead of them.

Thanks David for the air time info.

  2. Hey lancer, as far as I know, Caveman has already aired (as I’ve spotted it a couple of times in TV guides). I’m not sure if Seven has played the entire run of the series though; not that it matters. It looks awful.

  3. I liked what I saw of Lipstick Jungle in the trailers and TV spots but couldn’t be bothered checking it out – it is more oriented towards females, just like shows like 24 and Prison Break are more oriented towards guys.

  4. I must be the only one who loves Lipstick Jungle (thou I think it has something to do with the very lovely Kirby) – all the girls at work watch this show & we always talk about it Monday morning haha.
Maybe it needs to screen mid week perhaps!

  5. Lipstick Jungle has been rating rather horribly compared to the previous double of Grey’s and Brothers and Sisters. I think even Cashmere Mafia was doing better, and that was axed. It doesn’t surprise me that they’re doing away with the series quickly in time for the Olympics.

As for PB, I watched those eps 6 months ago back in January. Season 2 was amazing but season 3 was more or less a bad rehash of season 1 set in a mexican prison. Its still one of the better series on TV right now though, even though the ratings have been somewhat poor.

  6. Funny – we only start double episodes of TAR this week on Southern Cross after a single episode last week and non the week before. Wonder what that says about our olympic coverage?

  7. Prison Break – they want out the way for an Olympic special I suspect.

Plus I wonder how many are even interested in it any more? Maybe they have seen it or know what happens, I haven’t seen many promos about it.

As for LJ I don’t know what is happening but I bet it won’t be back for S2 on ch7 any time soon.

David – what is happening to Cavemen?
