Is this for real? Wil Anderson reckons his passport has been mysteriously cancelled just as he was heading to New Zealand to “heal a rift” triggered by those cheeky “Invade NZ” ads on The Gruen Transfer.
Anderson had planned to broadcast their afternoon show from Queenstown yesterday with his Triple M radio partner Lehmo.
“I’m not saying this is a conspiracy at the highest level,” Anderson told Confidential, “but I am determined to do everything in my power to get to New Zealand this weekend to present my delicious Anzac-biscuit-shaped olive branch”.
Anderson claims he has “no idea” why his passport has been stamped invalid, claiming he had a new one issued to travel overseas last year.
“The lady looked at me and said, ‘There’s a bit of trouble with your passport,’ and I went, ‘Hilarious – because of all the trouble I’m having with New Zealand, you’re giving it a bit of Matt Tilley Gotcha style: “There’s a little trouble with your passport”.
“But I’ve gone into the passport office, I’ve talked to them, they can’t explain it,” Anderson lamented on air yesterday.
The mystery continues.
