Fifi Box joins Sunrise

Radio personality Fifi Box is to become one of the ‘Sunrise family’ next year.

She will join with David Koch, Melissa Doyle, Natalie Barr and Mark Beretta. TV Tonight can reveal she will become the show’s new weather presenter. Her role will include on the road live weather crosses.

Fifi Box has previously appeared on Dancing with the Stars, Thank God You’re Here and a co-host of the Logie Awards.

Box said, “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the Sunrise family. Television is an exciting new challenge for me, and the chance to work with Mel, Kochie, Nat and Beretts, who have been wonderful friends to me over the years, was an opportunity I could not resist. I’m over the moon, I’m still pinching myself!”

Seven has recently denied media rumours that Melissa Doyle was looking to leave the show amid rumours she is interested in fronting Today Tonight.

The Seven Network today announced the signing of Fifi Box. Fifi is one of Australia’s best known broadcasters and comedians.

Fifi – currently with The Shebang on Austereo’s Triple M – will join David Koch, Melissa Doyle, Natalie Barr and Mark Beretta on the Sunrise team from early next year. Fifi finishes up with The Shebang and Triple M at the end of this year.

Fifi will be a key member of Australia’s most-watched breakfast television programme, now in its fifth consecutive year of leadership.

Fifi is perhaps best-known on television for her standout performance on Dancing with the Stars on Seven in 2007 and regular guest appearances on Sunrise and Thank God You’re Here.

Announcing Fifi’s signing, Adam Boland, Seven’s Director, Morning TV and Strategic Initiatives, said: “To us, Fifi was the obvious choice. She’s down to earth, never afraid to have fun and clearly not scared of early mornings. Most of all, she has a dynamite personality which we know Australians love. She’s already a good mate to all of us Sunrise – so we can’t wait for her to start.”

  1. Why isn’t Fifi coming to Tasmania, she seems to find time for all other states, so why not Tasmania.
