30 Rocks a Friday night

Fans of 30 Rock take note, there's an episode coming your way on a Friday.

Heads up for fans of 30 Rock with an unusually scheduled episode appearing on Friday night, September 26th at 11:15pm.

“Sandwich Day” is the 2nd last episode in the series with guest stars Rip Torn and Brian Dennehy. Seven has slated it on a Friday in order to accommodate all episodes in its schedule, rather than leave eps unaired.

Meanwhile in the next series, both Jennifer Aniston and Oprah Winfrey are set to appear.

“We were very lucky to get her. She’s so alive — she’s funny and beautiful,” said Baldwin of Aniston. “She’s got the comedy crazy gene… she’s fun and she’s sweet. She was a perfect fit for the show.”

Earlier in the week Baldwin had to apologise to Scrubs and My Name is Earl after he said the shows were “cooked and done.”

The actor was criticising NBC at the time for their lack of support, all too ironic, given the character he portrays.

“My apologies to the cast and crews of My Name Is Earl and Scrubs. In my frustration with NBC’s reprehensible promotion of 30 Rock, I took an unfortunate swipe at both of those shows and that was not cool. But, for Earl’s creator, Greg Garcia, who referred to me as a “psychotic”, I have only one question. Why are you Scientologists always rendering these medical opinions you aren’t qualified to give?”

For the record, Garcia says, “Alec, I can’t tell you how happy I am to once again point out that you are an idiot. I’m unable to answer your question about Scientologists because, although I respect anyone’s right to their own beliefs, I am not currently nor have I ever been a Scientologist. Maybe you should have done some research that extended past the comments section of Defamer before you crafted your insult.”

Ouch.

  1. I don’t find this show funny. I’m not one for Arrested Development or Scrubs either. However, I love The Office, Rules of Engagement, and the earlier seasons of How I Met Your Mother. They’re some sitcoms I never tire of…well, HIMYM’s latest season wasn’t fantastic, but it was still entertaining.

  2. @betty @andy no way is it overated. if anything it doesn’t get the cred it deserves.

BTW I really really agree that Scrubs is well are truly baked and needs to go away and die now. I once loved it, but its time to go.. Isn’t Zac the highest paid sitcom actor now? Please…

  3. Yes I agree with Shouting Betty. 30 rock is slightly overrated. I have read reviews practically calling it one of the best shows of the noughties. I think it is just because it is compared to crap like 2.5 men and rules of engagement

  4. DO YOU KNOW WHEN SCRUBS WILL RETURN SINCE 30 ROCK IS NEARLY OVER . NOT REALLY A BIG 30 ROCK FAN ITS OVERRATED SCRUBS AND THE OFFICE ARE AWESOME TOO BAD THEY GET NO LOVE OVER HERE

  5. I don’t know how much air time they give the 30 Rock promos on NBC, but when I bought seasons 3 and 4 of The Office they both came with flyers in them for 30 Rock. The season 4 set even comes with a 30 Rock promo on it. Nothing about MNIE (thank God, I hate it) or Scrubs. Although I’d say a lot of Office fans already watch 30 Rock, so I don’t know how affective that is.

But I always got the impression NBC loved 30 Rock. The ‘critical darling’. They could have easily cancelled it in s1, but they stuck with it.

I guess what I’m saying is Alec should wait until he’s working on a show called Arrested Development before he starts bashing the network for lack of support.
