For their second sing-off in Australian Idol‘s live finals, the theme is eighties music.
It follows the first choice of numbers from “Idol’s Idol” next week.
The final 11 will sing an 80’s song on Sunday September 21.
Press Release:
Tonight the Final 11 will be performing to their favourite song from the ’80s’, a challenge that will thrill some and terrify others.
Previous years have seen some sterling performances, such as Bobby Flynn’s ‘Under Pressure’, originally performed by Queen and David Bowie, a crowd favourite in 2006.
Who will the Idol’s channel this year? Madonna, The Cure, Billy Idol, Roxette, Icehouse, John Farnham and Kate Ceberano were all chart-toppers in the 80s – will they choose one of their songs?

knoxoverstreet , you took the words right out of my mouth…!
Let’s hope someone is brave enough (vocally) to cover a Cyndi Lauper track.
I’m a huge ’80s fan but what’s the bet that instead of the cool stuff like Duran Duran or The Smiths we get lots of Madonna & Bon Jovi..ugh!
