Brownlow live for NSW, Qld & ACT

AFL fans in NSW, Qld and the ACT can see the game's big awards night for free on the Main Event channel.

AFL fans in NSW, Qld and the ACT will be able to watch the Brownlow Medal live on the Main Event channel before the delayed telecast on Network TEN.

Main Event is offering the telecast free to subscription viewers next Monday night.

TEN screens a delayed telecast in those states after midnight.

Press Release:
Subscription television viewers in NSW, ACT and QLD will see LIVE coverage of the prestigious 2008 Brownlow Medal on FOXTEL’s MAIN EVENT channel (Channel 518) on Monday, September 22 from 8.30pm.

Regarded as the AFL’s night of nights, the Brownlow Medal presentation traditionally kicks off the Grand Final week festivities.

MAIN EVENT’s LIVE broadcast, from Melbourne’s Crown Entertainment Complex, will celebrate the highlights of the 2008 season and follow the round-by-round tally of voting that will culminate in the announcement of the league’s Best and Fairest player, the winner of the coveted Brownlow Medal.

The 2008 Brownlow Medal is expected to be hotly contested – will Geelong’s star mid-field duo Gary Ablett and Jimmy Bartels feature, or can the Kangaroos’ Brent Harvey, Richmond’s Matthew Richardson or Hawthorn’s centurian goal kicker Lance “Buddy” Franklin triumph?

MAIN EVENT’s LIVE telecast of the Brownlow Medal ceremony will be available at no extra charge to subscription television viewers in NSW, ACT and QLD and will commence at 8.30pm, on Channel 518.

  1. Channel 10 need a good drenching, what a joke 90210. They get the rights then dont even broadcast Brownlow. Christ they would have got the tv ratings for the night had they shown it because there isnt much else on the box tonight. Channel 10 YOU ARE A DISGRACE

  2. Sydney, Ten, and AFL = Absolute disgrace = No live Brownlow telecast in Sydney on Free to air. If channel 10 cannot broadcast the Brownlow live in to Sydney the AFL should remove channel 10 as a broadcaster. What do they broadcast 90210!!!!! Channel 10 you are a joke!!
