Australian Melissa George is in final negotiations to join the cast of Grey’s Anatomy as an intern says EW’s Michael Ausiello.
Minor spoilers.
The former Home and Away actress reportedly so impressed writer Shonda Rhimes with her performance on In Treatment (which airs here this Monday night on the Showcase channel) that initial plans for her to appear in a guest role could be extended for a multi-episode arc.
According to Ausiello, George is being groomed as a potential bisexual love interest for one of Grey’s other two burgeoning bisexuals, Callie (Sara Ramirez) or Erica (Brooke Smith). George also had a same sex kiss on the film Mulholland Drive.
Grey’s Anatomy will also see The L Word’s Janina Gavankar and up-and-comer Brandon Scott checking in as new interns, along with Battlestar Galactica’s iary McDonnell plaing a doctor for a multi-episode arc.

I agree David. I don’t mind waiting as long as they get played in their entirety at good timeslots when they do air.
@ Craig – Enough fast tracking, it proves a failure! Just wait until next year because you will be disappointed. I don’t know about you, but I would like to see the whole year in one go, not 8 or 9 episodes then 2 month break then back for the other 12 or so. It ruins it.
I don’t really like Melissa George but there’s worse people on TV at the moment. As long as she doesn’t do a horrible “English” accent like on Alias then I can handle her.
If this works out it’s another reason ch7 should fast track it and not wait till 2009!
