Night and Day for Fichtner

Prison Break tough guy William Fichtner wil take the lead in a new roject from 24's Joel Surnow.

William Fichtner has been tapped as the lead in TNT’s drama pilot Night and Day written and executive produced by 24 co-creator Joel Surnow and Todd Robinson.

The project is a fast-paced, gritty drama about the life of Dan Hollister (Fichtner), an agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms who works for a special threat intervention task force.

Also cast in the project is ER‘s Sherry Stringfield who will play Dan’s wife and emotional anchor Elizabeth, a stay-at-home mom.

But for Fichtner, Fox’s Prison Break remains his priority, though he doesn’t have a deal beyond this season (should there even BE a fifth?). Surnow’s relationship with 20th TV, which produces 24 and Prison Break, helped Fichtner land the role.

Seven will air Prison Break in October.

  1. Lol does anyone know how to spell her name properly? That first scene was the one i remember most clearly. The rest i can’t really remember the music style, but there must have been a lot of it, cause it went for like 2 1/2 hours.

  2. Benno, I really thought the music in the film mixed with good acting and the supernatural feel around the whole Ledger thing drove that scene and the movie hard. That kind of on edge repetitive feel in music like in the late seventies horror movies. I thought Maggie Glyaoufnhall (lol) was terrible.

  3. Heh, me and some friends were watching the new Batman last night and he came on and every single person in the room knew him from different movies, but no one had a friggin clue what his name was. He’s like a modern day Harry Dean Stanton.
Wonder how he will go as lead? Well, if David Caruso can do it, anyone can.

  4. I hope it doesn’t die in the ratings until the end of next may, due to huge competition (starting now) by heroes, dancing with the stars, 2 1/2 men, and one tree hill.

  5. PB should be done after this season I reckon. Its actually been really great this season, I reckon way better than season 3 though not quite as good as season 2. Its good to see that cast members are moving on though, this and the ailing ratings will give the staff the initiative to start giving closure to the storylines.
