Blatant plug time

Nominations for the Weblog Awards close today. TV Tonight wants ur luv!

The 2008 Weblog AwardsThe Weblog Awards are closing nominations today (or Saturday US time) for the world’s Best Blogs, including nominees for the Best Australian / New Zealand Blog.

While it only takes one vote to put you in the running to be considered for a finalist, a little fan-push might help persuade some judges, especially if they aren’t locals!

If you would like to help TV Tonight get to the finalist line (which will be an achievement in itself) you only need to go to Weblog Awards then scroll down to the bottom of the comments to find TV Tonight (search for comment at 4:07am Nov 20) and press the ‘+ button’.

This is the preferred method and doesn’t require any registration.

To leave a comment to vote for TV Tonight you can register with the site. Takes a little more time.

A little lovin’ never goes astray in the blogosphere!

David.

  1. Thanks Jimmy… yes it was a shame… I’m not sure the Yank judges got what I do.

I think they prefer blogs that are opinion-driven, whereas mine is news-driven with a mix of opinion, interviews, photo galleries, reviews, programming etc.

Stories that reference other sources ALWAYS have my own spin added into the mix, including correcting, embellishing, contradicting and adding in the bits they forgot. So they probably just thought posts here are re-publishing of newspapers, without drilling down into the content.

Those judges probably have no idea this site breaks news that is often picked up elsewhere too.

Also the time of year their judges were assessing sites, mine was in summer go-slow, so it probably don’t look as fresh. Oh well. I’m happy with my traffic and was really chuffed by the 200 odd votes garnered in about 24 hours. It obliterated some of the others that ran for weeks!

    Thanx for da support!
