Hold the phone. Brooke Shields says Lipstick Jungle hasn’t been scrapped after all.
“They thought that because My Own Worst Enemy has been shut down that the same thing had happened to us, and it’s not true,” she has said.
“They’re not breaking down the sets,” she added. “We’re still working. We still have more to do, so it’s erroneously presented that we’ve been canceled, thank God.
“Our bosses are saying, ‘You’re not cancelled, don’t worry. We’re just trying to figure out how to make this make sense.'”
Shields said fans have already sent in tubes of lipstick to NBC to show their support.
“It’s been insane,” she added. “I think that the public outcry has been crazy, and it’s kind of wonderful.”
Shields added that the show is performing when factoring in DVR views, but the network needs to figure out how to reconcile advertisers’ money over fast forwarding of commercials.
Co-star Kim Raver (who also denied that the show’s been cancelled) said, “I think on Monday there are emergency meetings as to what’s going to go on. But I know the executives are really pushing it and believe in it.”
Reports say the outcry over Enemy being cancelled was fairly weak while the outcry over Lipstick was impressively vehement. Only one more episode is currently scheduled to air in the US. NBC hasn’t decided whether to run the remaining four hours.
Lipstick Jungle is a Seven show in Australia.

I thought I saw an article about this “not being axed after all” but I thought they were pulling my leg.
I really don’t know what to think now.
Thanks, pondie84.
You need a jumper knoxoverstreet – done correctly you never see more than the last few seconds of the last ad. FF – old technology
LJ is absolute rubbish. Worst Enemy was more complex and a million times better.
A DVR is a digital video recorder (e.g. Tivo). DVR views means the number of people who digitally record a show and then watch it. In some ratings systems they include people who watch their recorded show within a certain time of broadcast.
Could someone kindly enlighten me as to the meaning of “DVR views”?
I actually quite liked this show. I really hope Seven bring it back.
Some say when you fast forward the ads your paying closer attention to them as you have to make sure you stop at the right spot.
“Our bosses are saying, ‘You’re not cancelled, don’t worry. We’re just trying to figure out how to make this make sense.’”
Which is code for you’re cancelled.
Yes!!!! I love this show. The latest episode i watched last night was great.
i wasn’t really fussed about this show being axed, i find it hard to see why there would be a big fan reaction, it’s no jericho. i wonder if the advertisers will start getting product placements, you don’t fast forward those.
