  1. My husband (74),son(40),daughter (44),son inlaw (45),Grandaughters(11 & 8) & I (69)loved the show.
Wasn’t long enough ,even though thankfully, there were so few ads.
How could you not enojoy this performer especially all the old favourites.
Neil is still a great entertainer. His voice hasn’t changed even though he has definitely aged & to my mind did not look so well.
I just wanted to know when this show was taped. How recent was it?
Long may he continue to perform.

  2. Weird, I found he sang with conviction, showed emotion and if you didn’t catch him having a sniffle at the audience’s overwhelming positive reaction to his songs, you must have been blind. It’s pretty obvious he has been through a tough journey in his life, which translates into his songs such as Pretty Amazing Grace, Home Before Dark, and the older Love on the Rocks. His delivery was touching, while at the same time paying attention to the audience. That was just watching the show on TV so the atmosphere must have been electric for those lucky people sitting in the audience. No one appeared bored or angry at such a ‘extremely lifeless and passionless performance’ . Yes, it was not Love at the Greek or Hot August Night, but that was a long time ago. We have all mellowed since then, so Peter, get over it. By the way, I wasn’t a great ND fan, but having seen this programme, I have become one! Cheers mate.

  3. This show was a huge, repeat huge disappointment, having become a Neil Diamond sceptic over the years since purchasing and thoroughly enjoying Hot August Night in the ’70’s but prepared to give it another go – how much are these (some of them genuinely talented people) celebrities paid to sit there and look bored shitless?
Dame Judi Dench looked as though she’d have been happier staying home to give an elderley relative an enema!
And what’s with the obviously pre-arranged audience questions?
It was obvious that Neil was out to promote his latest album, but what a bitter disappointment!
Even the man himself seemed bored, and put in an extremely lifeless and passionless performance, which failed to be enhanced by an aged and tired backing band.

  4. I watched this in the UK earlier this year and it is well worth watching and having your DVD recorder running. His voice is terrific and Pretty Amazing Grace and Home Before Dark are some of the best live reditions I have seen this year. He still has it!
