Vale: Richard Marsland

Radio presenter and writer of television comedy, Richard Marsland, has died, aged 32.

Performer and writer Richard Marsland (pictured, right) has died, aged 32.

Best known as a radio host on Triple M’s Pete & Myf Breakfast Show, he was also a writer for Rove, The Glass House and NEWStopia.

Marsland was found in his car near Hoddles Creek yesterday, police said circumstances are not suspicious.

“Richard was an incredibly talented and popular member of the Triple M team,” said Austereo General Manager Ben Amarfio.

“Everyone he worked with was impressed with his professionalism and dedication and he had an extremely bright future ahead of him. We thought so highly of Richard that we were expanding his role in the show next year.”

He started his radio career on SA-FM alongside comedian Greg Fleet and Footy Show host James Brayshaw.

South Australian personality Ann Wills said, “I never worked with someone who made me belly laugh so much.

“I think the entertainment industry in Australia has lost a great talent.”

  1. This is such terrible news. I only listened to Triple M occasionally, but he was head and shoulders above most of their announcers. So very, very sad.

  2. “found in his car yesterday, police said circumstances are not suspicious.” This worries me even more then if it were suspicious… We will miss you Ricky M and your Sharline 5000…

Here now truly Endith The Sizzle…

  3. I read this news earlier today & feel crushed by this . I never knew the man but his work on Get This was brilliant . I had his version of The Venga Bus going around in my head for months .
