Magazine deal for Rochester

Ajay Rochester's manager reckons he has been pitching her story to women's mags.

Biggest Loser host Ajay Rochester has signed a deal with Woman’s Day for it to cover her weight loss story, says the Sydney Morning Herald.

In two months she has dropped 10 kilos, after embarking on a brutal exercise and diet regime.

If that’s where the story starts and ends that’s one thing.

Rochester recently emerged from a lengthy case of welfare fraud in which she received a 12 month good behaviour bond.

Reports suggest the $14,000 she had wrongly collected in welfare payments is but a drop in the ocean against talk of $100,000 she has been tipped to collect if she does a media deal to sell her story.

But with laws against profiting from crime this would surely be unlikely? Nevertheless her publicist says he has been pitching the idea.

“I wish we could get $100,000 … I think that figure is a little ridiculous,” publicist John Scott, told the newspaper.

He admitted he had pitched Rochester’s story to a variety of magazines and television shows since her court appearance. However, no deal has yet been struck.

That’s probably a good thing. Be a great way to string out even more bad press, wouldn’t it?

  1. I don’t understand her. One of the reasons she was chosen as the host of The Biggest Loser was because she was a weight-loss success. She put on weight while the show was filming and said that it’s hard to keep the weight off when there’s no where for her to exercise (can’t remember whether she said this during the first or second series). Then in the next series, she was able to use the gym to keep fit. Now she’s lost 10 kilos which means she had put more weight back on.

Considering that she should be a good role model for people who want to lose weight, she’s all over the place. Losing that much weight and putting a lot back on constantly is really bad for you.

  2. As Ajay wasn’t charged, it wouldn’t be profiting from a crime.

And the mags wouldn’t offer cash for the stories if they didn’t make money from it.
