Classification Board website hacked

While Communication Minister Conroy was discussing hacked websites on Q&A last night, hackers had attacked the Classification Board website.

conroys2It was all just too, too ironic last night.

There was the Minister for Communications on the ABC’s Q & A answering questions about the blocking of internet filters and an ACMA “blacklist” which has been leaked and published.

Conroy explained reports of a Queensland dentist’s website had been inadvertently put on the list because it had been hacked by a “Russian mob.”

At the very same time, hackers had attacked the government’s Classification Board website.

The hackers had posted a notice clearly commenting on the very same subject:

This site contains information about the boards that have the right to CONTROL YOUR FREEDOMZ. The Classification Board has the right to not just classify content (the name is an ELABORATE TRICK), but also the right to DECIDE WHAT IS AND ISNT APPROPRIATE and BAN CONTENT FROM THE PUBLIC. We are part of an ELABORATE DECEPTION from CHINA to CONTROL AND SHEEPIFY the NATION, to PROTECT THE CHILDREN. All opposers must HATE CHILDREN, and therefore must be KILLED WITH A LARGE MELONS during the PROSECUTION PARTIES IN SEPTEMBER. Come join our ALIEN SPACE PARTY.

The site remained hacked for several hours before it went offline.

Senator Conroy was recently the target of a fake online imposter.

What a shame host Tony Jones wasn’t able to ask the Senator about whether the Classification Board website should end up on the ACMA blacklist.

  1. I’m not sure, i’ve never used iView (bandwidth issues), but there is a direct link from their home site. abc.net.au ->Television -> Q&A and follow the links. It’s 194MB in size.

  2. I watched that Q & A last night, and i wasn’t surprised Conroy continually beated around the bush, and told a few lies for good measure. I don’t know where to start…..
