Returning: Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles

In case you hadn't heard, the second series of Sarah Connor Chronicles shifts to pay television from this Friday.

terminator-connor64In case you hadn’t heard, the second series of Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles shifts to pay television from this Friday.

The action series, which once screened on Nine, airs on FOX8 at 8:30pm.

The series has a full 22 episodes but has struggled in the US.

Last week Kevin Reilly, President of FOX Entertainment was asked: Can Terminator or Dollhouse financially make sense as broadcast shows next season if their ratings don’t improve?

Reilly said, “Advertisers have liked the shows. Both shows are doing well on a c7 basis. It’s too early to rule them out.”

Whoever called TV executives pessimists?

In the US the show hasn’t been firing with its target audience of 18-49. Despite a lift in DVRs, last week it was down 17%  in its demographic audience. Maybe it’s time to start counting the sleeps til a “Terminator terminated” story appears.

Thankfully, none of this should affect a second season screening on FOX8.

  1. Grinspoon, I love the “Terminator” series, and especially love Lena Headey as Sarah Connor… Benno, yes, I do believe in miracles 🙂 …

  2. The bad news is next to nothing happens in season two of TSCC. It’s like every episode is a filler ep. However for those saying Friday nights = death let me just remind you that’s where The X-Files was shoved!

  3. I’ve watched the first 13 episodes of season 2, and i have to say that it starts off alright, and then gets quite boring. This is apart from the storylines dealing with the AI side of the show. There was an exceptional episode, but they have become rare.

Still, was it too much to ask for nine to play off season 2 in a 10.30 timeslot? (sorry Bridezillas fans!)

  4. Anyone else actually quite like this series?

It started off a bit flimsy, but by the end of season one it was great!
Seen some of season 2, but i have just put that down on my list as something i’ll buy on dvd to watch, due to time restraints.

  5. Re: David & Smallville. Fox8 is currently midway through showing Season 5, so I’d expect they’d continue showing them in order which’d mean Season 8 won’t air until 2010 (assuming they don’t give the show a break)

  6. It’s really good that Terminator is not on ch 9 because that means the show won’t get bumped to a 10:30 or even later timeslot. Loving the promo for the season 2 premiere. When does Dollhouse start on Fox8

  7. I think the main incentive for FOX was how cheap the episodes were, but with a 1.0 rating i reckon they would be making a slight loss. Still, with the movie coming out, i see WB giving them some freebies.

  8. i dare say FOX are going to keep it going as the movie comes out soon (Just in time for the Memorial Day Weekend in the US)…. they will be hoping that the movie stirs up some more interest in the show

  9. Good to see that Fox 8 is finally showing the latest season of Terminator. Any ideas when they will show Season 8 of Smallville after they acquired the rights to both shows last year from Channels 9 & 10.
