And here is the cast of the upcoming Stargate: Universe or as it is already commonly known, SGU. Try not to confuse it with Law and Order: SVU.
The cast includes Robert Carlyle and Lou Diamond Phillips, plus Justin Louis, Brian J. Smith, Elyse Levesque, David Blue, Alaina Huffman, Jamil Walker Smith, and Ming-Na.
It premieres in the US in October.

family friendly version of BSG? : Fail.
It’s a shame Robert Carlyle had to be killed off in 24 redemption.
Robert Carlyle kicked ass in 24:Redemption, this kind of show doesn’t appeal to me though so I’ll give it a miss
Apparently they want to try and keep the humour, so lets hope. I have a feeling they want a more family friendly version of BSG.
Bit worrying that only a few episodes in they’ll be having Richard Dean Anderson, as well as the take over the body of people on earth communication devices. So much for being some what stand alone.
I’m not so sure about this spinoff… time will tell though. I miss the original SG1
the short ad that aired during bsg final.
Still too little to see, just sets a bit of the frantic tone.
I don’t know Jay Jay, there’s been a shift in recent years of more and more movie actors heading to tv, it’s no longer seen as taboo. Especially as TV shows, especially on cable are getting better and better. Better writing, better budgets ect.
This show is aiming to be Sci-Fi’s replacement of battlestar galactica, as it’s big budget signature series. A different tone and style to the other stargate series. So they plan on it being critically acclaimed like BSG was. I’m a bit doubtful, as stargate is something people have made their mind up on.. most likely, so it’ll have to be amazing to be as respected, even if its just as good or even if its better than BSG.
bit sad that Robert Carlyle is doing this show.
question is will it ever even air in australia, 7 still has 2 whole seasons of atlantis to air. perhaps like a raft of other shows it will go straight to foxtel and the FTA’s won’t even consider it. foxtel is looking more and more appealing all the time, if only its price and channel packages weren’t enough to counteract the appeal of its content.
I for one won’t have any trouble distinguishing SGU from SVU.
