EW reports former Battlestar lead McDonnell is joining TNT’s The Closer for a multi-episode arc as a police captain who butts heads with Kyra Sedgwick. McDonnell’s alter ego, Capt. Christina Hatcher, runs the department’s Force Investigation Division and is slated to debut early into The Closer‘s forthcoming fifth season in the US. McDonnell can currently be seen on Grey’s Anatomy in Australia.

In late April former L Word star Jennifer Beals begins a multi-episode arc on Lie to Me as the ex-wife of Tim Roth and the mother of their daughter, Emily (Hayley McFarland). Her character, an assistant U.S. attorney by the name of Zoe Landau, hires her former husband to assist with an arson case, and it quickly becomes apparent that the onetime spouses still have unresolved feelings to work through.

TEN is fastracking Lie to Me in Australia so all being well this should surface in Oz in May.

Chris Noth will guest star on a CBS drama pilot The Good Wife, which centres on a politician’s wife (Julianna Margulies) who gets a job as a junior associate at a top law firm.

Will & Grace‘s Eric McCormack is signed to an untitled ABC sitcom pilot as a heart surgeon with a new baby, alongside Reno Wilson as a contractor with a new empty nest. McCormack’s TNT series Trust Me is not expected to return.

Former Melrose Place star Grant Show has joined CBS’ comedy Accidentally on Purpose. It stars previously-announced Jenna Elfman as a movie critic who gets pregnant after a fling with a younger man. Show will play the owner of the paper where she works.
