Choose your own rage

Lawrence Leung is Guest Programmer on rage this Saturday morning.

91Lawrence Leung is Guest Programmer on rage this Saturday morning.

Leung’s Choose Your Own Adventure series is airing on Wednesday nights on the ABC to positive reviews.

Don’t be surprised if he’s picked a lot of 80s songs in his one hour episode. Tiffany? Feargal Sharkey? What about a bit of David Hasselhoff?

Last night he was trying to become a Rock Star. At least now he gets to be a VJ.

It airs from 10-11am.

  1. Goonies, I saw a couple of familiar faces in the crowd (including Lawrence’s brother) so I’m pretty sure they were supposed to react the way they did.

I personally found the last ep to be a little cringeworthy. Some of it was cute (playing a cassette tape rather than a CD or iPod, the Indian guys recognising the “inEXcess” riff), but much of it was a little lame.

  2. Episode 2 was bloody hilarious. Well done Lawrence.

Typically they play an artist’s tracks at the end of a night after their guest programming choices. I hope “Choose your own Adventure” makes it on rage.

  3. I think this show is too niche for most.

Look at the reaction from the crowd in the club when he was ‘singing’ his song. They were taking themselves so seriously they couldn’t see that he was just mucking around having fun. If I saw someone belting out a recorder solo I would be cheering my lungs out!

Loved his Back to the Future references before and after his performance too.

  4. Its a decent show, better than most Aussie comedy but the ratings have been plummeting…it only got 450,000 viewers last night, thats down 200,000 from last week. At least we get a good 6 eps and ABC won’t yank it like Channel Nine.

  5. Lawrence isn’t guest programming just one hour of rage, David – that 10am hour is only a sample for the full guest programming spot on Saturday night at 11:50.

According to the rage website, there’ll be a few sections “like 80s movie soundtracks, One Shot Music videos, and the stoner selection”. Can’t wait for the playlist to be released tomorrow!
