gleeHere’s a look at the trailer for Glee, Ryan Murphy’s newest project.

Set around a high school choir it is the next project by the man behind Nip / Tuck and Popular -a guy who really knows how to tell his stories. He writes and casts with a very wicked sense of fun. Murphy also wrote the film Running with Scissors. It’s a shame his last project Pretty / Handsome never got off the ground. Australia’s Chris Egan had a role in that one.

Glee was borne out of the success of Idol with Murphy fusing music and drama (hello, Fame). In this promo you can see Jane Lynch in a role, and later there are promised appearances from Victor Garber and Kristin Chenoweth.

A preview of the show will be broadcast in the US after American Idol on May 19th on FOX.

Hope this gets picked up here, nudge nudge, wink wink….

  1. FOX are definitely putting alot of hope into the series if their willing to premiere it on the penultimate night of American Idol a good 3-4 months before the series is likely to hit the air
    TEN would be very smart in keeping this series

  2. TEN will have the option to acquire but I believe they have the option to wait until all new season programs are known during the upfronts in May.
    The pilot goes to air in may off the back of American idol and then from September. TEN may elect to hold and launch around Australian Idol given the compatability.
    “Masterwork” with Matt Passmore is also the other big FOX series so TEN are looking strong especially if the NCIS spin-off happens which you would assume is a sure bet.
    Word is also that “Lie To Me” will be renewed.
    Four programs for TEN in 09/10 is not a bad start to their new season.
