GO!99 for entertainment?
Is GO!99 the name of Channel Nine's upcoming entertainment channel? Hmmmmmm....

Today TV Tonight asks if “GO!99” will be the name of the upcoming entertainment channel that Nine is planning to launch?
As part of its multichannelling, a new entertainment channel will begin in the second part of the year. Based on this leaked logo, Nine’s font is sleek, contemporary and alters from its traditional “9.”
So far there is no word on what titles may comprise the new-look channel but Nine has previously been reported as seeking to utilise content that has been stored in its library due to a ‘lack of air space’ on its primary channel.
Advertisers on its main channel could be offered free ads on the new channel as part of the initial launch.
Sales Director Peter Wiltshire has previously indicated Nine was aiming for an August start-up.

James,
there is no way they will show The Wire – 9 have no interest in this style of series at anything other than 1am mid week
At least the “GO!” will fit with affiliates aswell if they take it. Such as GO! Channel 88 for WIN and NBN (until they switch to Nine).
Its been registered so that will be the name.
look it up on the ipaustralia website
Trade Mark # 1290489
The 9 looks like their old logo that I remember from the 60s!
its all good for you metro people bt what about our poor country cousins…when will Prime /Sth X 10/ WIN/NBN say what they are doing….David iam sure the country cousins would love to know…have you asked and have they answered…and I like 99 extra ” could play off “99 extra reasons to watch” WIn 88 sad but it would be confusing…another Government stuff up by not letting the regionals be the same numbers…even though they would argue that they couldnt for the metro/regional border areas…
They could show The Wire from beginning to end in a reasonable timeslot.
I don’t think This Channel would survive….
The Best reason why we should Switch to Digtal TV is ABC2.
So… 7, when are you getting your 2nd sd channel up and running?
That logo could make for one hellishly annoying watermark…
I wonder if this is what they are saving those already filmed episodes on Celebrity Singing Bee, 9 said they would be aired later in the year…and its definately an entertaining & fun show.

Some when are you gonna tell us what this logo is from David? This one looks like a credible logo, especially when compared to that ghastly Nine Gold (LOL it’s still funny) logo you posted the other week…
Can someone confirm – is ABC2 on Ch 22, ABC3 will be on 23, Seven2 on 77, and Nine2 is 99…. What about SBS 2 & 3?
They should use Channel 911, I believe they’ve been allocated that LCN.
Their slogan can be “Yeah, I’ll hold!”
Maybe just my humor, but, if they made a crime drama channel.
Thats a bit cheap and typical.
‘agent 99’ would be great 🙂 as in ‘get smart and watch 99’.
go!99 is a little bland, but better than 9sd2 or similar
i’ve no idea if that logo is genuine or not, but i actually like it. It looks fun. Better than just using the standard “9” with some add-on to the logo (like 9HD) But at the end of the day it’s content that will make the channel a hit or not – not the logo.
Oh come on Dans dans tall poppy i think not
plenty suggestions from your comment till now even e99 is far superior than that crap
go99 is just laughable
Goooooo 99!!! It sounds like a catchphrase from some Japanese kids’ show. It’s a bit self-congratulatory, don’t you think? “Go 99! We’re the best and are going to win the ratings”
I actually like the logo as it is seperate from 9 and i also like the idea of Nine+ and Nine Extra and even the name Nine News Now if they do a news channel
Go sounds perfect, as in how quickly will TV shows go off the channel. Since Nine usually doesn’t give TV shows a chance on their main channel, frequently changing the timeslots, or completely dropping shows, or even selling off shows (several recent series sold to Foxtel).
The programming on their HD channel has been the worse of all channels, which only parts of several series (Justice League Unlimited, Taken, Xiaolin Showdown) actually shown. The reason? Nine let the rights expire, rather than completely showing those series earlier or quicker.
They’re obviously aiming for viewers with an IQ of 99 or less! But they’r already watching Deal or No Deal.
Maybe they can use Barbara Feldon as the face of the network.
I like it, quite unique; although as someone has mentioned, I also like E9 (for Entertainment Nine) as well. I just wish the colour wouldn’t be black and white, it’s so retro.
Nine Extra sounds good, cpandilo.
The cornerstone would be Brisbane Extra, on at 5:30 nationally, on the new SD.
You could promote it as “Extra”, coming soon to 9. then reveal that the “Extra” is the new SD.
It’s a bit of a lame title. The logo seems similar to Cartoon Network as well.
I’m not sure if they shoudl incorporate the nine dots or not. I mean, Nine use the dots everywhere these days (there’s like a billion of them in their promos for ‘Choose Nine’), but then if it is a new channel, maybe they should not incorporate it.
E99 sounds really good as well. They need to have 99 in it to tell people what channel it’s available on. Otherwise it’ll be like the US where no numbers are in the name of the networks.
I think they could go just channel 99
