More Taboos for National Geographic
A fifth series of Beyond's Taboo series is picked up for global screenings.

National Geographic Channels International has acquired series five of Taboo, produced by Beyond Productions.
The 15-part season five explores the extreme culture and practices of sub-cultures around the world and will air internationally in 164 countries on National Geographic Channel, and will premiere this August.
“Taboo has been a consistent ratings success on National Geographic Channel, taking viewers on a provocative journey across social norms and cultural borders. It explores rituals and customs acceptable to some, but forbidden or illegal for others, examining these practices from a variety of perspectives”, said Carlyn Staudt from NGCI.
The show explores rules and codes of practice and what is acceptable to one can seem taboo to another. Its weird and wonderful topics includes supreme devotion, initiation, gender benders, tainted love, body modifications, mating rituals and daring death.
