Wilfred barks again

The mis-adventures of the dogged trio of Sarah, Adam and the dog who thinks he’s human will return.

wilfred3Woof. That irascible SBS dog, Wilfred, is a-comin’ back.

Film Victoria has approved funding for a second series written by its two stars Adam Zwar and Jason Gann. Renegade Films will continue the mis-adventures of the dogged trio of Sarah, Adam and the dog who thinks he’s human – Wilfred.

Film Victoria has also funded the second season of Rush for TEN and Southern Star Entertainment.

Burberry Productions will also produce Dead Gorgeous, a 13 part children’s series that follows three beautiful, strong willed, ghostly teenage sisters. A co-production with UK’s Coolabi Productions it is produced by Ewan Burnett, Julian Scott and Barbara Slade.

Moody Street Kids also received funding for a 52 part children’s animated series, Fleabag, a puppy from the local pound who together with Itchy the flea, sets off on an adventure searching for a place to call home.

Film Victoria CEO, Sandra Sdraulig, said, “With three months of the financial year left, Film Victoria has already supported 18 TV productions, the same number of TV productions for the entire previous financial year. This is indicative of a positive trend toward television programme development.”

Three docos were also approved:

Westall 1966: A Suburban UFO Mystery will follow the tenacious amateur sleuth and academic as he tries to answer a forty-two year old UFO mystery, The Conditions of Love, a love story that follows a human rights campaigner from China and the repercussions of her actions against her family and Immortal in which the potential secret of youth is found inside a murky Tasmanian pond.
