Guide: Michael Jackson Memorial
Updated: Seven, Nine, TEN and ABC now all cross live to the Memorial Service in Los Angeles.

The memorial service for Michael Jackson at the Staples Center in Los Angeles will take place early morning on Wednesday, Australian time.
So far more than 1.6m fans have registered online for the tickets that will be made available. Police will seal off an area with expectations anywhere from a quarter-million to 700,000 people may try to reach the arena. A number of big names in the music industry are tipped to perform.

2:50AM Sunrise: Michael Jackson Memorial
David Koch, Melissa Doyle and Molly Meldrum will co-host a special extended edition of Sunrise, live and commercial free. It will feature reports on the ground from Mike Amor, Rahni Sadler, Samantha Armytage and Nelson Aspen.
Also on Wednesday night Seven has scheduled Living with Michael Jackson at 10pm bumping My Name is Earl and Family Guy out to a week later.
Nine plans a marathon leading up to the Memorial concert, including a repeat of a negative documentary heavily criticised by readers of this site, Michael Jackson: What Really Happened, just hours before honouring his memory. From 2:50am Karl Stefanovic will host in the studio, with Leila McKinnon reporting from the concert at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles. Nine’s US bureau chief Robert Penfold and Nine News reporters Peter Stefanovic and Tom Steinfort will also present live reports.

Ten’s CBS Feed was atrocious, the minute anyone stopped talking that damn katie COuric would start commenting on what is hapening, totally stupid things like ‘That is Jermain Jackson on stage there , talking… ” etc total crap
CBS was awful audio too.
I missed the memorial on life; but taped it and watch it after work.
I am going to watch the memorial tonight as well.
The world will miss Michael and his work so much,
and his contribution to music and charity.

Chanel 10….. you advertised from 3am live for the Michael Jackson memorial !!!! Got up especially to watch at 3am, and it was just the last bit of it…… was very disappointed.
The Memorial started late for all but TEN had it from about 3.30 same as the rest of the country.
Its 2:20am and it looks like Seven is scrambling for pictures……
Today has already started on Channel 9…..and 7 has cut short the Jackson Concert to put on CNN….. The presenters are probably being rushed threw makeup to get on air.

I will be watching it even if i had to give my life up for it. Michael made me who I am. He inspired me when I was down. In fact his life and his philosophies have had such an incredible impact on my life and billions on this planet. Oh Michael Michael you are God. I love you always

Channel 9 I hope you all burn in hell for airing Michael Jackson: what really happened prior to his memorial. You are all pigs!!!
Here in Perth, due to time differences we miss out on most of the doco’s and jump over to the live broadcast at 12.50am, one of the very rare times that any program of any type is actually broadcast live in WA.
Both Sunrise and Today will run through to about 7am but the real downside is that both are scheduled again until 9am, probably regurgitating Kochie and Karl’s dross for a nauseating second time around.
Nothing to watch basically tommorow at all, All FTA channels going for a cheap ratings grab by airing the memorial..
SBS One is the only channel that is not airing it..
ITV will be rescreening Living with Michel Jackson on the 16th, but will edit out Gavin Arvizo’s interview. I wonder if Seven will do the same?

Wonder what will happen when someone important in this world of ours dies rather than a “singer” that people actually ridiculed and detested before his death – now they love him.He was not even a good singer.

@ johnston i was just thinking the same thing, since the cbs morning show airs in the usa before the Memorial takes place they will be talking about how it is just hours away even though i would have already finished by the time cbs morning show goes to air on ten.
Really wish Tivo would update its guide to reflect these programming changes. Who would actually get up to watch this live?
Won’t it be weird for Ten to show 30 minutes of The CBS Early Show after the memorial concert, given in the US it airs in the morning of the concert? Maybe Ten should show something else between the concert and the 6am news. Also, 3AW reports that the concert will be shown live on the big screen at Melbourne’s Federation Square.
I would rather they cut out the local crap and just give us an HD feed straight from CBS or whatever.
What the hell are Kochie or that Stefanovic dope gonna add to anything ?
Why is Nine re-running that crap, “What Really Happened” was just crap and the others are now out of date. do they really need to put this on to fill the 3 hour gap?
