Next Wednesday Movie Extra’s Renee Brack hosts a behind-the-scenes chat with the team from The Jesters, the channel’s new local comedy, at the Apple Store in George St, Sydney.
Mick Molloy and Writer/Executive Producers Kevin Brumpton and Angus FitzSimons will chat about their equally behind-the-scenes look at making a TV comedy show.
Retired comedy legend Dave Davies (Molloy) nurtures four upstart university undergrads by whisking them away from their satirical student newspaper and giving them their very own TV show. But it’s a decision Dave may soon regret as the show becomes a hit and egos spiral out of control, causing a battle between Old School comedian Dave and The Jesters New School pranksters.

You might want to check that date. Their website says Tues Sept 2, but clearly that’s incorrect as Sept 2 is a weds, and when I rang to check with Apple story, they said it was happening Tues Sept 1 and thanked me for pointing out the error.
Just watched the first 2 eps on Foxtel On Demand.
Would be better without Mick Molloy…. kinda like how The Cut would have been better without John Wood.
Mick Molloy acts like he trained at the John Wood School of Acting.
I certainly wouldn’t pay extra for the movie channels just to watch this. Looks like 2 eps are all I will see.
