Auditions: Red Faces

If you think you have, or more to the point haven't, got what it takes, Hey Hey's reunion wants to hear from you.

redsHey Hey It’s Saturday has been plugging auditions for Red Faces on its website but now has an open call in Melbourne and Sydney.

The show is looking for six acts, presumably for each special, if you think you have, or more to the point haven’t, got what it takes.

Famous names that appeared on Red Faces before they hit the big-time include Cate Blanchett, Marg Downey, Rob Sitch, Brian Nankervis and rock group 1927.

“If you or a group of mates have a unique talent that astounds or even dismays your friends and family, we want to hear from you,” said host Daryl Somers.

Red Faces acts are typically a mix of the bizarre and unusual, while having high entertainment values.”

Doors at the venue will open at 10 am and will close at 5 pm. Unfortunately we will not be able to see people after 5 pm. If you have not been admitted to audition by this time your act will not be seen. Acts coming to the auditions should be no longer than two minutes and will be seen on a first-in, first-served basis. Details as follows:

MELBOURNE: 2pm-6pm – Saturday, September 19: Channel Nine Network, 22 Bendigo St, Richmond. Report to Gatehouse. Arrive early to avoid disappointment.

SYDNEY: 10am-5pm – Sunday, September 20: Kirribilli Club, 11 Harbourview Crescent, Lavender Bay. Arrive early to avoid disappointment.

(DK: and please no acts singing about Red!)

  1. @MB, went through the same thing and not very happy considering part of my act is driving down from the Murray (and over the border at that) arrangements made etc…. terrible form.

Does that mean everyone should camp out on the 27th or 28th for Audience tickets??? this stuff needs to be organised, not some silly PR stunt so they can run a puff piece on 9News!

  2. As someone who went to the effort of going through the website, sending emails and making/receiving phone calls (even accepting changed dates) to be able to audition, I’m not very happy that it is now an open “first in, first served” audition all of a sudden. Hopefully I and the others who also went to this effort don’t miss out on auditioning because of the masses who will just turn up on the day.
