Returning: W-League
Women’s National Football League will open with a re-match between last year’s grand finalists, Brisbane Roar & Canberra United.

The second season of the women’s national football league, Westfield W-League, airs on Saturday, October 3rd at 3pm on ABC1. It will be seen live in live in Qld, NSW, Vic, Tas & ACT.
It opens with a re-match between last year’s grand finalists – Brisbane Roar and Canberra United at Brisbane’s Ballymore Stadium.
“Women’s football has truly arrived in Australia and ABC TV is keen to build on the excitement these elite athletes have created,” says ABC TV sports commentator, Steve Robilliard.
He will be joined on the commentary team by former Matildas, Cheryl Salisbury and Amy Taylor.
“Football is the fastest growing sport in Australia for women and girls and it’s vital that the competition is televised nationally by the ABC.
“The quality of play has been outstanding and it can only get better. All the eight teams have incredible skills and a willingness to attack at every opportunity.
“We can look forward to some exhilarating games and breathtaking football from early October until the Grand Final on Saturday, December 19th.”

Why not live in WA? Surely the ABC HD channel could have shown it live if they couldn’t be bothered showing it live on ABC1
