TEN unveils early premieres

The Biggest Loser, So You Think You Can Dance, Good News Week, Burn Notice, House, Medium, and White Collar will all return in the week of January 31st.

TEN has revealed its programming for the week of January 31st which, as expected, unveils several of its key titles ahead of official ratings.

It includes The Biggest Loser, So You Think You Can Dance Australia, Good News Week, Burn Notice, House, Medium, and White Collar.

The Biggest Loser with new host Hayley Lewis is stripped at 7:30pm weeknights following The 7PM Project, while the line-up also includes the premiere of Ross Noble’s Australian Trip and the late-night return of Army Wives. Little else changes in the schedule so far, with 9AM Summertime also still in place.

TEN’s strategy in recent years has always been to launch key shows ahead of ratings and Seven will do likewise. Additional titles will no doubt appear once ratings resume on February 7th.

  1. I am so mad mad mad! Ten has been advertising the start of dance and house tonight (Sunday) and when we sat down to watch we have Cricket! I could pull my hair out and scream – How can they advertise these shows for months and do that – or is just that we are second class citizens in the country.

  2. Why is there hardly anything to watch anymore… I only like supernatural (best damn thing), psych, white collar and dexter, and a couple other shows which arent on this channel, it’s good that white collars back on, but i’d stop watching all of those shows while easily justified easily if you just put supernatural back on

  3. 10 programming in general is the worst especially how they show such bias to a particular program yet contempt to US shows why do they bother having output deals with the US?

  4. Well, that explains why Ten were so keen on blowing off new episodes of Simpsons and Futurama so quickly as Loser and Dance are eating up a bulk of their schedule throughout the early ratings period, and I suppose they wanted to get them out of the way for the impatient fans out there.

The only thing drawing me to Ten of late was their animation schedule, Malcolm in the Middle and The Office, and their summer schedule has been one of the worst in recent memory. I have no reason to watch TV throughout the ratings period… as usual.

  5. 10 aired all of Army wives season 1 after Letterman about a year ago so hopefully they will air season 2. I wish GO could of brought the rights to this show and it would be especially good decision because they could do a special cross promotion with Vampire Diaries because Paul Wesley who plays Stefan Salvatore features in about 5 episodes in season 2 of Army Wives.

  6. Great line up, Ten. You’ve justified my decision not to watch anything on Ten this year until you come to your senses and start airing some decent shows. There is no variety, it’s all boring reality shows, and I mean reality shows that are boring, and repetitive boring procedural dramas. I can see now how you justified taking a thrilling show like Supernatural off the air. It doesn’t fit in with your brand of bland.

  7. I reckon that they may have a chance with this new 7.30 stripping of The Biggest Loser. Unlike most I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and say that it might just work.

I wonder where they’ll put Glee when its season returns. Hmm.

  8. House on a Sunday, brave move, i actually think it’s a good move though. Had to try something new. And it now means i can watch whatever’s on Seven and record House. There were too many shows on Wednesday night to watch and record everything. Although i still need to buy and watch last season of House, cos i haven’t seen a thing of last season.

White Collar on Friday?? Not happy bout that, have to just record it now. Thursday instead of Medium would be better. Even Wednesday insetad of Brun Notice but i know there’s a lot fo Burn Notice fans on here.

  9. Oh dear, that schedule doesn’t look very promising. The only shows I’ll certainly be watching are Good News Week, which fits into my viewing schedule nicely now that 7 has axed Not Going Out, and probably the Ross Noble special afterwards. I can’t see myself watching The Biggest Loser as much this year due to the timeslot change, as my main reason for watching previous seasons was the lack of alternatives in the 7:00 timeslot. As for Dance Australia, 6.5 hours in a week is too much for a niche show and it just eats up the schedule. Where’s Talkin’ ’bout Your Generation going to go?

And if someone from Network Ten is reading these comments, if you insist on keeping The 7pm Project, slice the news in half and move it (Project) to 5:30pm, because it looks like the only half-decent timeslot available.

  10. It is good to see Burn Notice back in teh line up – just love Bruce Campbell. Pleased to see they are also sticking with Outrageous Fortune. Not teh same since Grant Bowler stepped out, but there is something about it (Antonia Prebble actually 🙂 )

  11. I think it’s a great idea to have Biggest Loser at 730pm, I like the idea of the later programs starting on the hour as the night continues, gives a chance to pick up more veiwers who have not liked what’s screening on other channels.. I think 9pm and 10pm hour long shows will do really well.

  12. so we have to wait till the biggest loser is over and masterchef starts to get new merlin. 10 will have to delay the dvd release yet again because they are taking so long to air it.

would have liked to see supernatural or SGU on friday instead of an ncis repeat.

  13. Also: Burn Notice is too weak for Wednesdays, leave it for Thursdays where is was doing ok in late 2009 and save Medium for later in the year. Don’t know what a random NCIS rpt is doing on Friday. White Collar could go the way Law and Order did earlier this summer.
