And the first amendment of the 2010 ratings year goes to…

.....Channel Nine.

Channel Nine is officially holder of the first amendment of the 2010 ratings year after it issued a switch this morning.

It’s adding a repeat of The Mentalist to 9:30pm this Thursday, in place of a double episode of CSI: New York.

Now instead of two CSI episodes airing, it will just be one, “Communication Breakdown” moved to 10:30pm.

The Mentalist repeat is “Bloodshot” S1E16.

Of course late on Friday TEN also suddenly dumped Malcolm in the Middle in favour of more Simpsons repeats plus Biggest Loser replays, while Seven last week added a bunch of repeats of My Kitchen Rules, Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters to daytimes too. But it’s all about timing, Nine was first after we crossed the line in the ratings sand.

Next up we’ll have to see who is first to dump a show after getting a look at its 2010 ratings, which is actually a far more significant programming blink than this one.

  1. Is The Mentalist becoming the new L&O, NCIS or other shows over exposed, this week they will have the new episode and two re-runs, that’s 2 wasted hours that could have been used for other shows.

  2. Any idea what has happened to “Come Dine with Me” on 7. This is the second time it has been taken off air. Will it be coming back? Not having pay TV I had not seen it before it came to channel 7. Cheers
