BBC Worldwide Australia will move to a major new headquarters in March at Macquarie Park in northern Sydney.

The move will combine two BBC Worldwide offices, currently situated in North Ryde and North Sydney, with 90 staff to be housed in its new green-friendly workplace.

“This is an opportunity to bring all of BBC Worldwide’s businesses in Australia together into a vibrant, new working environment” said Tony Iffland, BBC Worldwide Australia’s General Manager. “By working collaboratively under one roof, we will provide a creative and powerful platform from which we can continue to expand our business.”

BBC Worldwide has a stake in local production company Freehand and Lonely Planet, created a publishing venture with ACP Magazines, and owns UKTV, CBeebies and BBC Knowledge.

  1. Bring back BBC HD!!!

What was the advantage of dumping it for UKTV HD? Get rid of the quality documentary programming, and replace it with upscaled dramas that are already available on the SD channel anyway? It already had the HD content from UKTV.

  2. Hopefully BBC Worldwide Australia expands on their channels although the amount of repeats on UKTV needs to be reduced. With quality programming in mind, expansion is good news.

Since the move from ch606, I am watching more of BBC News. Thank you Foxtel.
