Hot on the heels of Better Homes and Gardens announcing a live expo, now Grand Designs Australia announces a similar event for 2011.
The Australian adaptation of the UK series is currently in production with FremantleMedia Australia and will debut on The LifeStyle Channel in the second half of 2010, hosted by architect Peter Maddison.
Grand Designs Live will take place in Sydney with over 300 exhibitors in interiors, kitchens, bathrooms, build and gardens sectors, vetted by a Grand Designs committee. It will be run in partnership with UK-based company Media 10 who run Grand Designs Live in London.
Ben Liebmann from FremantleMedia Enterprises’ new local Live Events business said, “Grand Designs is already a major global brand and launching a local version here, as well as the live event provides the perfect platform from which to establish it as one of Australia’s leading home and lifestyle brands. We are looking forward to working with Diversified Exhibitions and Media10 to bring this brand to life.”

I live in the United States and am jealous! Fantastic tv show and I would love to see a US version, or make the others available here. Cheers All!
I don’t know Kevin, but i did my work experience with Pete, and he is one hell of a funny guy. Loves his architecture. This show is going to be top with Pete on it. He’s my neighbour too!
ok cool beans.
Who’s gonna be the host?
Oh, and they better put the time into the show the UK one now has. Since they got the time to follow projects over long periods of time, the show got way better than from the early times when a lot of stuff was never finished.
Filming is 12 – 18 months I think. No quickie here.
Love the show, but an Aussie version…. he better be as enthusiastic and with as great a descriptive vocabulary as Kevin.
