Election Night: SBS

SBS is planning a two hour World News Australia: Vote 2010 special with Anton Enus and Chief Political Correspondent Karen Middleton.

SBS is planning a two hour World News Australia: Vote 2010 special on Election night, to air from 8:30pm – 10:30pm. If it turns out to be a landslide result (which it probably won’t) then it could potentially wind up missing most of the action.

WORLD NEWS AUSTRALIA will present ‘Vote 2010’, an Election Day TV special.
Saturday Aug 21, 8.30pm – 10:30pm AEST: News anchor Anton Enus and Chief Political Correspondent Karen Middleton host a live panel program as the results come in, joined by expert political commentators.

However, the broadcaster is also drawing attention to its other political coverage in the lead-up to the big dar.

INSIGHT, SBS’s forum program hosted by Jenny Brockie, has been devoting its episodes to election issues ever since the election was called. The last show before the vote will be: Tues Aug 17 @ 7:30pm: Undecided Voters.
For the Economy program Insight examines who’s hurting, why, and how will it affect the election result. For the Undecided Voters program, an audience of genuine swinging voters from Australia’s most marginal seats reveal what’s swayed their vote. In addition, Insight followers on Twitter and Facebook have been posting their comments live into the election shows.

LIVING BLACK, Australia’s premier Indigenous current affairs program hosted by Karla Grant, will broadcast an election special.
Sunday Aug 15 @ 4:30pm: What are the hot Indigenous election issues and how have the major parties addressed them? This program also looks at the potential for Indigenous voters to make a difference in several key marginal seats.

DATELINE, the international current affairs program hosted by George Negus, will bring its own take to the election campaign:
Sunday Aug 15 @ 8:30pm: Video journalist David O’Shea is at the recent Pacific Islands Forum in Vanuatu reporting back on what Pacific leaders think of Julia Gillard, Tony Abbott, and a regional approach to asylum seeker processing.
