Joan Rivers ramps up her unique fashion commentary from a series of specials to a weekly series on E!

Caustic comedienne Joan Rivers is turning her notorious and no-holds-barred celebrity fashion specials into a weekly series, set to air on E!

The new Fashion Police series will kick off Wednesday, September 1 at 8:30pm with a special hour-long event covering the Primetime Emmy Awards and then will move to its regular weekly timeslot on Saturday, September 11 at 7pm on E!

She will also host Fashion Police specials in the 2011 award season once again dishing on red carpet fashion at the Oscars, Golden Globes, SAGs and Grammys.

Daughter Melissa Rivers serves as Co-Executive Producer.

Rivers said, “Melissa and I are so excited to bring viewers Fashion Police on a weekly basis. It’s great to be on E! where I can speak my mind about celebrity fashion choices, including the hits, misses and everything in between.”

Lisa Berger, Executive Vice President, Entertainment Programming, E! Entertainment added, “Joan took Fashion Police to a whole new level of comedy and candor when she came on board for the 2010 award season and we are thrilled that she will be at the helm of this new weekly series.

“Growing out of our success within the award season, our audience will now be able to get its weekly fix on everything fashion and pop culture through Joan’s one-of-a-kind perspective. Joan has never been hotter and this series will feature the comedy superstar doing what she does best.”
