GEM makes another change to its schedule with the removal of Cold Case from Tuesday nights.
From next week Law and Order will air at 8:30pm each Tuesday.
It begins from Series 5 all the way back to 1994 (check out the fashions!).
After a deceased woman’s body poses a health risk, the detectives investigate what really caused
the woman’s death. Meanwhile, Kincaid meets her new boss, Jack McCoy, who wants to probe the
deceased woman’s doctor and her so-called “cure”. Stars Chris Noth, Jerry Orbach
Should it remain on GEM it will be an interesting situation next year. As Law and Order: Los Angeles joins Seven we could have the franchise screening across three networks.

@ vinny – thanks. in syd they kept pushing the time for the new eps back until 11pm or so, then didn’t bother to show the last two (even though they were advertised).
@ henry – They had widescreen back in 1990 ?
@kazorama – I am sure that all episodes were played out in the Perth market as we got the episodes I think when Sydney had NRL on. So I think some markets have seen all episodes and some haven’t.
@chk chk
The show was unfortunately cancelled earlier this year after 20 seasons. I’m guessing the networks wants a Jerry Orbach/Chris Noth season which is why they haven’t gone back to season 1. Its amazing how format has remained the same across all the seasons. Never gets old…unlike SVU and CI.
Every season of L&O was filmed in widescreen too (yes even back in 1990)!
Why not season 1?
lucky ten has the most successful one. s.v.u, which i wish was back with new eps!
Doesnt Network TEN have the rights to this i thought they had the rights to all of law and Order back catalogue.
I just wish they would show the last 2 eps of cold case – jeez 9!?!
@Katrina
On TEN’s midnight screenings of Law & Order, they are three episodes away from the final season, so I think they may broadcast it then…
Oh no…..
They say it was planned on the facebook page but I really with so many changes in such a short time frame I tend to think this channel GEM was not planned and though through like 7 mate.
The Nine Network may make the guiness book of records soon for the most numbers of programming changes to a new digital channel , even GO! has had less changes recently than GEM.
I would assume it is like South Park in that Nine has the rights and bought just some older seasons of Law and Order and will repeat them over and over if they rate well.
Cold Case was played out in Perth I think so they were repeats.
So Tuesdays is now Law and Order, Dark Blue (from GO) and The Closer not a bad lineup.
And all in stunning High Definition?
But will 10 ever show the last season??? The dvd release is so slow it’s going to be a decade or more before I can buy it.
Great! Much better than some of the drivel that’s being played. “Fashions”? Seen “Riptide” and “Home & Away Early Years”? Good writing and acting beats fashions anytime for me.
Why is it we rarely see the first 4 seasons of L&O ?
Everytime the W Channel goes back years it’s always to the start of season 5.I think only once I’ve seen them go back to the very start.
I give it less than 2 episodes… including repeats
If it’s season 5 and it’s 1994, does it mean that L&O is now about 21 years, wow such a milestone for a procedural drama!!
Will it be repeated after 8:30 Tuesday? That seems to be when everything good is on.
Fantastic, I love original L&O makes a nice change to see old seasons being aired. Kudos to Nine sorry Go sorry Gem, yeah that’s it for airing it.
Maybe they could find room in their budget to air old Nero Wolfe Mysteries while they’re at it.
Mum was watching cold case, if it gets taken off a 3rd channel where can they possibly air it, this is ridiculous. Hopefully it will air at some point, maybe in non-ratings, it is so petty that the few thousand viewers we are talking about with this 3rd channel change is worth messing the current viewers around.
