Returning: Fringe

GO! has confirmed the return of Fringe from mid January, after pulling episodes last week.

It appears the plan was to return the series when it could run more episodes without interruption from US scheduling. That said, it’s a risky show to meddle with because the audience is likely to source it elsewhere.

It’s back at 9:30pm Wednesday January 12th with the episode “6955 khz.”

UPDATE: Now returning January 19.

The Division investigates a case of more than a dozen people all over the East Coast suffering from memory loss caused by a radio’s frequency. Meanwhile, Walter is discouraged by Peter’s work on the doomsday device.

  1. You have made a very astute comment…Fringe viewers will source this awesome show from elsewhere. I have all 9 of the shows currently aired on US tv….but as i am obsessed and addicted to Fringe i wanted to watch it on aussie tv. And that is what i was attempting to do. Fringe is The most creative and brilliant show ever to grace our tv screens…the writing = pure Brilliance, production values = Awesome and the actors = sensational…and two of the lead actors are austrailian. I cannot understand why GO has taken Fringe off the air. In the US Fringe is on winter hiatus as are lots of shows…and this gave GO tv the opportunity to continue screening Fringe episodes so that we could catch up. The US has screened 9 episodes and we have screened 5…with the 6th episode taken off our screens without any notification to its viewers..let alone an apology. I find the excuse that GO wanted to screen the rest of the episodes continuously without interruption as a very weak one. I mean why screen quality tv when you can screen fluff like Vampire Diaries and Hellcats…lots of pouting and pretty girls there!!!!! Fringe doesnt do pouts…so i guess thats why its not on tv.
Aussie Fringe fans have vented their anger on the GO website…but there has been no response…they dont seem to read email posts or update their blogs. GO tv has lost many a viewer over this. And if you get the impression that i am less than impressed with GO/Channel 9 you would be correct. I will not be watching either channel ever again!

  2. The production schedule for Fringe, start date 8 July 2010, finish date 1 April 2011.

It’s one of the best shows going around, a lot of people don’t really care whether 9/Gem/Go! show it or not fans are up to date with eps already aired in the US

  3. well at the end of the day, it kind of made sense

hopefully it doesn’t get the cut after this season

speaking of which, what’s with the GO! watermark logo? its massively huge

  4. I look forward to it being back. I’ll admit I can wait a month as I really object to waiting 6 months or more. Plus I remember the days when I had to wait 3 years and the like. I was really not happy about that. Although there was no internet back then to accidentally read spoilers (until later). However there could be magazines. Also these days there are the DVDs if worse comes to worse. I’m also glad they didn’t change the day. This is why I love this site (to tell us about what’s going on). Thank you.

  5. It’s possible it was only removed so they hada stockpile of episodes so they gave it a rest over Xmas there gave been 9 eps aired and it doesn’t return stateside until the end of Jan
