Channel Nine apology: Sorry about our ugly watermark

"Unfortunately, even a big watermark like this isn't enough to stop Channel Seven from stealing our footage."

Networks getting very cheeky now…

This YouTube clip reckons, “Unfortunately, even a big watermark like this isn’t enough to stop Channel Seven from stealing our footage.”

Over to you, Seven….

  1. Regrettably, there has been another incident of electronic graffiti — this time it’s Channel Seven. Footage of Pauline Hanson crying had 7 News 7 News 7 News 7 News emblazoned Right across the middle

It’s not the first time they have done this. Remember when a light plane crashed in the suburbs near Bankstown Airport last year? Footage was defaced with even worse graffiti, right in the middle of the screen.

Now, can we have an apology from Channel 7 about this like Channel 9 have as shown in this article?

  2. I’m sorry to have to say this…..but…..I couldn’t help but notice the graffiti is back. It was emblazoned on some of the footage in the story about football star Benji Marshall on Nine’s First At Five on Sunday, March 6. :sigh:

  3. Both 7 and 9 Networks are both lazy at journalism and both steal each others footage. Maybe ACMA should clamp down on this instead of something else, but the reality is they will not ACMA is a toothless tiger just like the ACCC and the Reserve bank. Those organisations dont have enough power to act on actions like this. Money does by you power and influence sad.

  4. As much a people hate all the 7/9 stories the same people cannot help but keep the issues alive by whinbging about it. How about creating something new at 6-7pm that people want to watch which isn’t aca tt

  5. If Nine think their large an intrusive electronic graffiti are going to attract me as a viewer then they are living in fantasy land. By the way I watched Brian Naylor most of my life i.e. 15-20+ years. Then when he went their standards went out the window. Ironically during the floods they showed they were capable of presenting news properly especially after the first day (i.e. no music or ridiculous graffiti). But I just don’t trust them to get it right most of the time. I don’t always respect Seven either but that’s why I have a computer. I can always do something else.

  6. @Andrew. 7 did used 9 aca footage from the hey hey scandal 4 times in 1 week last year and with the youtube. if it was 7, they would have tried to get all the people that are bagging 7 on youtube kicked off

  7. Geez i hate 7. Bloody cheats. How about they actually bother trying to report the story of Mcfadden instead of using Nine’s footage? Yes networks do share stories, but you would expect Seven to have covered this themselves instead of relying on Nine to do the work. Nine are well within their rights do use this watermark, and I’d rather see the Nine watermark then a grey line in the middle!!! Seven is a joke

  8. Love how the inferior channel needs to use YouTube as a way of attracting viewers.

    How about some decent stories?

    Fools.

I’d rather watch Channel 7 and see the blurred watermark.

  9. It wasn’t that long ago that Channel 9 was seen to be using recycled Seven (and Sky) pictures and splashing a giant “First On 9” over the front.

    Pot. Kettle. Black.

And at the end of the day, nobody cares. For two channels that are both over 50 years old, Channels 9 and 7 behave like a couple of babies sometimes. Or maybe senility is kicking in?
