Frankie Muniz in domestic dispute

Former Malcom in the Middle star Frankie Muniz has denied he grabbed a gun and held it to his head during a domestic dispute.

Former Malcom in the Middle star Frankie Muniz has denied he grabbed a gun and held it to his head with the intent of suicide, following a domestic argument with his girlfriend.

A police report filed in Phoenix, Arizona, last Friday claims he was arguing with Elycia Turnbow in their home.

Turnbow told police that she was worried that the 25-year-old Muniz might be suicidal, so she called one of his band mates to take him to a hospital.

Police removed a gun from Muniz’s home after the fight.

But Muniz claims Turnbow was screaming and yelling at him when he “fell and hit his head.”

Muniz was released a short time later and went home, but just after 10pm the same night, things exploded back at the house. According to the police report, Elycia says, Frankie “punched her in the back of the head, and threw her into a wall while in the downstairs bedroom.”

Muniz denied punching Elycia, telling police he was defending himself when “Elycia fell to the ground and started to kick the bedroom door.”

But things were quickly patched up between the two.

“The table’s all set for Valentine’s Day dinner,” Muniz tweeted. “I love @elyciamarie.”

Fair enough. Perhaps I cast the net a bit wide.
But you’ve got to admit that oodles of child stars end up with troubled adulthoods.
I could list dozens over the years, from Mickey Rooney to Michael Jackson to Gary Coleman. And I know, they may have been just as troubled if they were not famous, etc etc etc……….
    Forget I brought it up.

Although violent and without excuse, but I hardly think one incident in a relationship is cause enough to brandish the “screw loose…troubled adulthood” stamp.

Unknown people have domestic incidents too, we just don’t hear about them.

  3. David, I hate to call you out on something, but why is the comment section open for this story though closed for the Matthew Newton story? Both are about domestic abuse. Is it because one is Australian and one is American? Seems strange…

    1. Don’t mind being called out and responding. Comments are often closed on these kinds of subjects because such discussion could breach Contempt of Court in an Australian state / jurisdiction. This story is not before the Australian courts and I am not publishing in the US. Furthermore there is actually no charge in this case, so no pending case. They were warned any further incident would result in such.

  4. This is a bit of a surprise – I thought Frankie was a good boy.
Amazing how pretty much every child actor ends up having a screw loose and thus a troubled adulthood.
