Nine memorabilia to go under the hammer

Rare photographs of Channel Nine stars, and Graham Kennedy's dresser and mirror are some of the items being sold off by GTV9.

Rare photographs of Channel Nine stars, the original doors to Studio 9 and baby grand pianos are all up for auction as GTV9 exits its Bendigo Street studios.

An online auction of memorabilia will begin this Thursday.

Photographs of Nine stars that dotted the corridors of GTV9 have been bar-coded in readiness for the auction by Gray’s Online. Only a few have made their way to the very modern new office complex at 717 Bourke Street.

Other items include Graham Kennedy’s dresser and mirror, AFL memorabilia, commissioned artwork and even the boardroom table, which Jeff Kennett is said to covet. It was the original table used at the Wertheim Piano Factory which was established by Kennett’s grandfather.

You can register for the auction here.

Inspection of items will take place on site this Friday.

  1. Shameful. If the Government – or thug brain Australians for that matter – had any care for entertainment history and not just the bloody sport all, of this would be going to a museum. Perhaps GTV wouldn’t have been allowed to have been sold in the first place? I wonder if the NGV could pony up for some of the stuff? Ah no, it ain’t hoity or wearing a baggy green crap.

Shame on Nine. Shame on this country. Long live the King!

  2. I’m sure the promotional stills of Eddie the ego will make fine toilet targets in homes far and wide. As I’m also sure the promtional stills of Sam Newman will make fine dartboards at womens liberation offices across the nation…or a substitute for double ply at Caroline Wilsons home, take your pick.

Does anyone else want to buy the board table just to annoy Kennett??

  3. @Woody – I’ll give you five bucks if you’ll put in the same. Now we just need to find two more like-minded people! I bags having him during the cooler months as I don’t want him sweating on the carpet.
