ABC News 24 announces new Afternoon Live host

ABC journalist Kim Landers replace Afternoon Live host Ali Moore, who is now presenting Lateline.

ABC News 24 has announced a new host for Afternoon Live, to replace Ali Moore who is now presenting Lateline on ABC1.

She is ABC journalist Kim Landers.

Landers spent five years as the ABC’s North America Correspondent in Washington covering such stories as the Bush presidency and the election of Barack Obama. She has also worked in the Canberra press gallery, ABC Brisbane newsroom and in news and current affairs on both TV and radio.

Head of Continuous News, Gaven Morris says: “Her recent efforts covering the Queensland floods and Cyclone Yasi working closely with the ABC News 24 team have ensured she joins us as a familiar face. I am very excited to welcome Kim into the ABC News 24 team. She has a wealth of experience and will be a perfect addition to the news lineup.”

The changes in hosts for various shows were all triggered by Kerry O’Brien’s departure from The 7:30 Report.

Landers will start on March 14th.

  1. She’s a great replacement. Good luck, Kim! PS: I’m really enjoying Andrew Geoghegan’s stint on News24 after 7pm (AEST). He has a nice relaxed style.
