Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman are set to sign for an 8th season of Desperate Housewives, and potentially a 9th.
The actresses have been holding out for raises since at least January but Deadline is reporting that ABC is about to wrap up contract negotiations.
Each would reportedly earn $325,000 per episode for the eighth season, and if the show is picked up for a ninth, $350,000.
Marc Cherry had expressly asked ABC to sort the deal in February.
“I would hate to have to wrap up Desperate Housewives in an untidy fashion just because they weren’t able to make a deal. But everyone’s pretty optimistic a deal will be made,” he said.

Love this show, can’t wait for the next season 🙂
The scripts are just Ace ! The issues with Tom and Lynette are relateable
Gabi’s issues with illegals reflects the US state of mind with Mexicans right now
a good balance of humour and stuff to make u think !
The current series took a few weeks to get going but last week’s episode with the riot was brilliant. Still an excellent show after 7 years and is standing the test of time.
@ Craig, lol, I still use the paper phonebook, it’s a lot quicker sometimes.
I watched the first few eps of the season but not in the last few weeks, I still think it’s worth a laugh but is not as good as the first few season. One thing that has annoyed me is they jumped forward 5 years and we all know how quickly technology changes but that’s not being shown in simple ways, like in one ep they needed to look up a phone number so got out a paper phone book, haven’t they stopped distributing them to homes in the US now? How hard would it have been to whip out a smart phone or tablet? Sometimes for me its the little things that make a difference.
I think they should end it soon, but they will probably try to reach 200 episodes (another two seasons). Eva said it would be back on Letterman last week.
Great episode, last week btw. I have mixed feelings, a big fan from day one, I can’t see it going on much longer and still remain fresh. What more can they do? Wysteria Lane has had a riot this year, a plane crash last year and a cyclone the year before. For me it jumped the shark when they killed of Edie, and I hate that they made Gaby’s daughter not actually Gabys daughter. But having said that and even though I hate the new timeslot, it is still very often the highlight of my viewing week.
Didn’t Cherry say he’d finish after 5 or 6 seasons? Guess when they offer enough money you’ll go forever 😉
So even with this pay rise Charlie Sheen still got more? that’s crazy.
I don’t care how many seasons they have but there will be a point where it’ll be too many! If the show does end, the final season has to be perfect!! (big fan since the 1st season)
