Rebecca Gibney favourite for Gold Logie

Rebecca Gibney is the favourite to win the Gold Logie according to the bookies with Jessica Marais in second place.

Rebecca Gibney is the favourite to win the Gold Logie according to the bookies.

Centrebet has Gibney leading with 1.77 to 1 over her co-star Jessica Marais at 3.50.

Next up is Karl Stefanovic 6.00 and Chrissie Swan  on 10.00.

Trailling are Adam Hills on 15.00 and Asher Keddie on 26.00.

Hills should be on better odds than that. It’s his fourth nomination and he has his own show on air which will help this year. The nod to Marais is spot on but could the two Rafters nominations split their audience?

In a recent poll TV Tonight readers also put Rebecca Gibney in first spot voting her to win with 41% over Chrissie Swan with 19%. But Adam Hills is ranking third with 15% followed by Karl Stefanovic at 11%. Jessica Maraiso nly polled fourth on 9% with Asher Keddie last on 5%.

But nobody’s perfect. Last year when the race was more difficult because there were 8 nominees, TV Tonight readers tipped Shaun Micallef first over Gibney and Ray Meagher.

Industry were equally divided over those three with Meagher eventually taking out the gong.

Let’s take another look at this race closer to the big day….

  1. Glad Karl got it, but really glad Gibney didn’t. She is a vain and conceited woman and this was maybe a wake up reality check for her.

  2. Im over Gibney, and Rafters and all it’s hype as a whole. Would love to see Karl get it, his work durning the QLD floods was fantastic, but I know he doesn’t have much of a chance. I think Asher could be in with a shot.

  3. The only nominee I’ll vote for is Asher Keddie!! (50 text messages so far)

I know her chances are quite low in comparison to the others, so I’m really hoping Adam Hills will take it out this year.

His first Gold Logie will be more deserving than Gibney’s second. I personally don’t feel Julie Rafter should warrant a second win.

  4. i would love, just out of curiosity, if they could add Shaun Micallif to the list just to see how the public think.

i know he isnt nominated but if he was…. be kinda fun to see what his odds would be against the others….

  5. Jessie won’t win it because she’s off to USA trying to make a break there. While I think that Rebecca will win it, I would love if Adam Hills could win it one year (and he’ll be getting my vote)

  6. Can’t see why Chrissie Swan can’t win She was a huge personallity in big Brother and many of us loved that show, admit it, also voting started when lots of under 25’s were home from school and Uni and the show seems very popular with the younger demographic

  7. @Goonies Zoe Ventoura who played Melissa was the one who was killed off. Jess Marais plays Rachel. Her character will be leaving when the show resumes.

I can’t really judge Asher Keddie as I never saw Offspring, but if she wins I will probably give the show a go.

  8. Given you can still vote for the Gold, and given all the public whinging about Chrissie Swan’s nomination, hopefully Chrissie will get lots of sympathy votes and pip Gibney at the post!

  9. I’m not convinced Rebecca is the one to win this year. Last year would have made more sense to me, but she lost to Ray meagher. I also think Adam Hills has a shot, or Chrissie Swan (in the spirit of Denise Drysdale, Jeanie Little), winners who were distinctive personalities – not just character actors. Keddie and Marais have little or no chance in my view. Rebecca’s character also was quite secondary in many of the storylines from the 2010 series. ‘Dave, Ben and Nathan Rafter’ seemed to have the dominating plots, and Rachel and the boyfriend and brother, mother subplots were not overly dramatic. Still miffed at Angus McClaren not showing up anywhere!
