TV takes to the stage
More television shows will be taking to touring as arena shows, exhibitions or theatre performances.

So far we’ve had MasterChef, RocKwiz, Good News Week, Better Homes and Gardens and Spicks and Specks plus the visiting Top Gear stage show.
But there will be more television shows taking to the live stage following a joint venture between Australian promoter Chugg Entertainment and Australian-based TV Touring.
Headed up by director Tara King and Dean Buchanan, TV Touring will develop ways to take the television experience off the box and to a live audience – as arena shows, exhibitions or theatre performances.
“Audiences love getting to see the stars of shows up close and personal. Unlike TV, the great part of live entertainment is that it isn’t perfect, so every show is a unique experience,” he said.
Buchanan, a former dmg radio director, added, “Our goal is not only to create shows that audiences will love, but also shows the stars will love delivering. The shows we create deliver great entertainment and also offer advice and tips linking directly to an artist’s philosophies and ideas.”
So what shows would you like to see on tour?
I’d like to see some Aussie equivalent of the PaleyFest where stars and showrunners engage in Q & As with fans.

what about Underbelly: The Musical. Instead of slaughtering criminals with guns they bring ’em down with a song and dance number.
This is a good thing especially if the show can translate well to on stage. But i must stress that there are shows which do not belong on tour.
The Goodies liked their first tour of Australia so much they came back for a second helping!
Graeme Garden is even coming back again to do a pilot for Ch.7 on 13/14th April.
And don’t forget the popularity of the Antiques Roadshow tour, there is a real market for UK TV shows to come over for a tour.
How about a Good Life show? Richard Briers would have plenty of funny things to say.
Now if the Doctor Who stage show would just come over…..
The Chaser also did a live tour, that show was really good.
And agree, TAYG would be great!
TAYG.
How about 20 to 1? They could have a game of bingo afterwards.
The cast of the last season of So You Think You Can Dance couldn’t garner enough interest for a tour. Don’t like their chances.
Yeah, I agree with Travis….TAYG would be very good on stage…Micallef can improvise like no one else…
Talking Bout your generation would be good in a roadshow format.
The Million Dollar Drop would have to be high on the list….
followed by Charlie Sheen’s Torpedo of Truth.
Gladiators. They had a live show in the UK for their original series so it’s a shame nothing ever happened here.
More Countdown Spectaculars.
A Paleyfest style Q&A would be great.
However I think a Hey Hey live show could have potential, Red Faces for instance could be acts from whatever town they’re in that night.
Or maybe we can finally fulfill my dream of Bob Morrison The Musical.
They talked about doing a live Kath & Kim show.
No reason they couldn’t tour with Australia’s Got Talet or X Factor contestants.
The Glee cast are touring US and UK this “summer”. Would love to see them come here.
