Nickelodeon to produce Camp Orange UK

Nickelodeon Australia will produce a new version of its kids series Camp Orange for Nickelodeon UK.

Nickelodeon Australia will produce a new version of its kids series Camp Orange for Nickelodeon UK.

The UK version of Camp Orange will begin shooting next week  in New South Wales with UK talent.

“This is an exciting creative step for Nick Australia,” said Katrina Southon, from Viacom International.

“Over the years we’ve collected many awards for Camp Orange, Australia’s first reality show just for kids. It’s become the perfect local production format for us to export globally, including three seasons of an Italian version of the show. With a UK version set to air this summer we will continue to seek out opportunities to produce even more content for UK and American Nickelodeon audiences.”

Nickelodeon Australia wraps shooting on the seventh season to be called Camp Orange: Wrong Town.

It will again be hosted by Luke & Wyatt, and for the very first time, will feature a team from New Zealand.

Camp Orange has won several ASTRA Awards and last year’s season was nominated for a Logie Award.

  1. There’s a reason why there is a NZ team on Camp Orange. Around the end of last year, MTV Networks shut down the standalone Nick NZ, and replaced it with the Australian variant, as part of a streamlining operation (with day to day stuff for MTVN New Zealand moved to Australia), which also saw the Australian Nick Jr channel launch in NZ.

I’d say Camp Orange 2011 will be only the beginning of Australian Nick content catering for two countries.

  2. It’s nice to see Nick Australia give something to it’s UK counterpart. I wonder what Nick UK is like?

PS. Speaking of more UK stuff, don’t watch “Come Fly With Me” next Monday on Nine. It will have ads in it (and knowing Nine, they will stick to the 3 ads per half-hour rule and have sponsors after ad breaks one and three.). While it does have the people from Little Britain, I stand by my choice. So…

    1. Wait for the DVD of Series One to come out (get it on region 2 if you have to). And also petition BBC Worldwide to put series 2 of CFWM on ABC1/2. A show like this belongs on non-commercial TV! (Are you listening, ABC1?) BBC Worldwide should already know when you try to put something from a license fee paid free-to-air no ads network, it will get wrecked when you put it on Nine or Ten or another commercial network.
    2. Boycott Nine and tell them, “No more BBC Worldwide shows! You’ll only remove the credits and some of the jokes anyway.”
    3. Don’t watch BBC shows on Nine, ever!

  3. No mention of Nickelodeon Islandares, hosted by Marty from Big Brother and sponsored by Paddle Pops? Predates Camp Orange by about two years, IIRC.

    Still, love Camp Orange.
