Former Law and Order: SVU faces to return

Actresses Stephanie March and Diane Neal will both return to Law and Order: SVU.

Casting changes at Law & Order: SVU continue with the announcement of two former characters making a return.

Stephanie March, who played Assistant District Attorney Alexandra Cabot for seven seasons, and Diane Neal, who portrayed ADA Casey Novak for six, are both returning for the thirteenth season.

This follows confirmation that Kelli Giddish and Danny Pino will join as new detectives.

As previously reported, Christopher Meloni is out, but Mariska Hargitay remains in a reduced capacity, as Detective Olivia Benson is promoted to Captain.

At this stage it isn’t clear how many episodes March and Neal will appear in.

  1. @Dan: Quoting Judith Light’s Judge Donnelly character: ‘she got censured & suspended for a year, possibly more’. I guess that time is up.

  2. Yay for Diane and Stephanie best D.A’s ever! Will be watching season 13 🙂

I thought Casey was disbarred after what happened in the finale of season 9?

  3. Good to hear some of the old characters are returning they were both very good but I do not have high hopes for Danny Pino he has always seemed quite wooden to me.

  4. I’m also a big fan of Stephanie, so am super exciting for the new season

R.E Mariska – they’ve said that although she will have less on screen appearance, she is expected to be in every episode so that’s fine. Sad to see Chris leave but then again he didn’t take his shirt off enough so it’s no big loss.

  5. Stephanie March is such an under-ratted hottie! Love her glasses, blonde hair & pencil skirts. Every DPP office should have a woman like that.

  6. Hoorah! This season is looking better and better, even if Elliot is leaving. Cold Case Man – Tick, Cabot – Tick, Novak – Tick. Closer Lady- ? i’ll give her a shot, but don’t have high hopes for her sadly. She looks to post like. Lets just hope Mariska doesnt just do the first 13 and then go away, that her 13 are spread out.
